Default Bored to death

So I've been at home for 5 months now yet again recovering from the two first rib resections.

I've done it all, Netflix, reading, organizing...I am bored out of my mind and eager to join the world again and I can't. What do you guys occupy your time with? I'm also starting to have major cabin fever.

I have been off work (mostly) for four months now so this is an issue for me too.
Don't like watching movies and can't do much reading or video games.
I have found some good online lecture videos which work much better than reading - no need to hold the book, look down and turn pages.
I am also rediscovering music which I never had time to listen to.

Definitely know the feeling. I have been out since May. I found one task that works double duty....baking. I really like to eat so I have to be super careful and only make goodies I will eat about every third time. The hubby and kids eagerly help devour whatever I make. Granted there are tons of modifications...height of cutting board, ready made pie crusts and such.

I diligently do my yoga and walk everywhere I can. Best of all I am learning another language and am planning a fantasy trip...including lots of research on hotel, restaurants, museums etc. Its fun to really dig into another culture. Good luck on finding something to help pass the time.

Default Making YouTube Videos

I've been having fun making my YouTube videos. It's been over 20 years since I've been able to work so it gives me something creative to do. I've done video's on TOS, cooking, product reviews, fishing, pretty much anything that interests me and I can manage to do.

And your videos have provided good info and quite a few laughs.
Thank you!

Yes, Coop, I know, your videos are funny, I'm not sure I want to start that. Maybe I will make you tube videos about my fish tanks. I'm working on starting aquascaping in my 5 gallon tank.

Hi Coop!
I volunteer, using my talents last year I became a child advocate for the court after the huge kids for cash abuse in our county.
I take on the most complicated cases, because of my training. My body may fail, but my mind still works and I have decades of knowledge.

I work PT time too. I work as a field adjuster for a claims company. I'm not good with the report writing end, but do a heck of a field job. Commercial vehicle accidents, transport drivers for DOT testing, flood or fire damage, liability claims.

There are agents in our company that do the work from home; out of country also. They take statements, use my information for reports to the client, do the research on product liability or slip and falls. I do site diagrams, measurements, and photographs.

You can reinvent yourself. Unfortunately the pay comes with the referrals, now I'm in a famine, not a feast of them, that sucks. If I was a strong report writer I could get more referrals.
