Default Surgery question Dr. Donahue - insurance is denying authorization

Did anyone else have this problem and did it work out for you? I had everything all planned and scheduled 3 months ago, but the hospital waits just 3 weeks prior to the surgery to get the insurance authorization. I just got a call that my insurance company denied the authorization for surgery, not exactly happy right now. Has this happened to someone else right before surgery with Dr. Donahue, and was it resolved? Did anyone NOT have it resolved? Thanks.

oh how annoying..
Not sure if anyone had that happen before or not..

Is Donahue's office/staff separate from the hospital,( I assume it is) is him doing the surgery approved - but the hospital was slow in seeking their part of the approval?

But I would think his office & the hospital should be able expedite & fix this problem for you , they are the experts in this stuff.. and they want to get paid afterward...

I would get after both and make them fix this..they know or can find out what might be missing or needed to get the approval - it isn't work comp related is it?

I'm trying to sort all the details out and I will contact the hospital and doctor's office soon. I hope you're right and they fix it as soon as possible. It's the hospital's policy to wait just 2 - 3 weeks prior to surgery and request approval from the insurance company. It doesn't exactly leave a lot of time to sort things like this out, especially given all the planning from 3 months ago. Just hope someone can tell me this happened to them as well and Dr. Donahue was able to have the decision reversed so I don't have to worry as much.

I too was denied right up to the day before surgery last week. Dr.Donahue spent a great deal of time over several days talking with workers comp and he got it worked out.
I am glad yours worked out also.

Best wishes to you
