I was diagnosed with TOS in June, after 2 1/2 years of various doctors, tests and surgeries. I recently saw another Thoracic Surgeon @ MGH who isn't positive that it is TOS, but he wants to do a CT since he claims their machine is better than the other Boston hospital's machine.
I am out of work due to the pain, muscle loss/weakness etc. |

I think if it would be a financial hardship at this time I'd tell the Dr "no thank you".
Another possibility - find out the machine names and do a search to see if they are really different or one better than the other? I don't know that many have had a CT scan for TOS diagnosis, maybe for ruling in or out other possibles. I hope others will post if they did - and if it showed anything pro or con... What surgeries, tests & treatments have you had already? Did you see any of the Drs in our Drs & PTs sticky thread?

Hi Annabanana, Im guessing you saw dr. Donahaue at MGH. You are in good hands there, I have heard good things about him, he is not quick to rush somebody off to surgery if they dont need it. I have also heard good things about the ct scan being used there.
CT scan was used as a part of my diagnosis as well. Cheers, Jay |
