Default Pain and numbness in head being flexed, looking down

Hi,
Does anyone else have cervical radiculopathy or C8-T1 (Ulnar distribution) pain when they look down? I seem to be ok (reduced pain) as long as i dont flex my head on a pillow. Then it flares up. Or if I look down when standing.
Wondering whether its TOS or cervical issue.

Hi Akash,

I am from India based out of pune. I have. C8-T1 pain in neck and tos symptoms.
I am helpless without proper treatment. Please message me your details so that we can be in touch since in India there are few doctors which can help us.

Thanks

Hi Ramdas, can't see a PM facility activated yet for you..probably because it takes some time to be activated (number of messages you post etc). Do you have an email? I'll mail you over the weekend.

To be honest, I haven't found a single PT/Dr in India yet who is truly an expert on TOS, some are familiar with it, but their treatment methods etc are limited or they are out of time and we don't warrant their effort.

What are your symptoms, your pain levels, and how did you develop this issue? Do you have any coexisting neck issue (eg disc bulge, herniation) or any shoulder issues (trauma, fall). Did you develop it gradually or did it start off new? What level is your pain at, really high or mild.

Please post a thread on it, I am sure there are people here with greater experience than I, who can give some valuable feedback.

Thanks for reverting Aakash.
My mail id is **
Wrote my email I'd in above format by thinking it may get deleted if I write it in email format.
Mime started as rsi with ulnar nerve issues at elbows and then my past troma to neck helped it to aggravate to have tos symptoms.
I am on sabbatical leave for 3 months now and and not thinking to go back on computers.
Which city ur from? since I am home my pain level is 2 at the moment but have all those typical symptoms of tightness and chest pain with little activities and car driving. I am afraid of its progression. This is the reason I quit computers though I took the decision bit late, last April I was only having elbows issues.
Is it possible to speak over a phone? Please mail me your mobile number if possible. I am really afraid of this and depressed since I have a wife and daughter dependent on me.

Hey Akash, I did have this symptom a few months ago. Nerve tingling / pain would not start instantly but after a few minutes. My understanding is that it could indicate nerve entrapment. The exact spot of the nerve entrapment could be one of the three spots mentioned in TOS or your cervical spine. To rule out a cervical spine issue, my physiatrist used an MRI to verify that the vertebrae in that are looked ok. Also, for me, pressing on the area near the collar bone (scalenes) would trigger some of this even while looking up.

Yes, I did before my surgery. Anything that makes that Thoracic Outlet triangle smaller for your particular anatomy will aggravate the symptoms

Hi Eight, just wondering. Did you try deep cervical flexor exercises or Edgelows protocol?
