Default Cervical Headaches/Ribs

Hi there!!!

I'm new on here, and just wanted to reach out to anyone else that has Spare Cervical Ribs in their necks. I have Bilateral ones. I recently had a Specialist tell me I'm most likely suffering from Cervical Headaches as well. My range of motion is not hindered at all, so injections are not needed. Although, Physical Therapy just isn't affordable , and really a Chiropractor isn't either. (Even with insurance) My Dr. has tried me on a couple different things, that hasn't worked out for one reason or another so I'm in pain EVERY DAY!!!!!

This has all been a very recent diagnosis to me. And a lot of web sites use technical mumble jumble that's hard to understand!!! I would appreciate any help, or advise from anyone!!!

Thank you!!!!

TOS doctors might suggest trying a numbing/block injection (Novocaine/marcaine,etc or some will use botox) , to see if the pain is stopped or reduced from it. It can be used as a test and/or a pain reducer.

You don't mention swelling, color changes, or heaviness so yours must be mainly a nerve compression and not a vascular compression.

Check out the Drs & PTs sticky thread to find if any TOS specialists are nearby.

I would only consider the surgery with expert TOS specialist surgeons..

My headaches were from arterial tos, more common on left side. Pt will not help with this, so you would need supraclavicular 1st rib resection. I felt like somebody had their arm around my neck and was squeezing it cutting off blood flow. Felt better after surgery. The scar tissue is forming now so not sure if that will cause other issues.
