How are you doing after rib removal surgery? Do you work on computer all day caused you ntos or something else ? Regards Ramdas |
I have not been able to work since August 2014 and not seeing it happen anytime soon.

It's been over 5 years since my hands went numb and I can't click on a mouse
I'm working but only bc I know my boss. I work from home a lot and can barely sit at a desk. But I have a bad combo of ehlers danlos and n tos. If I only had ntos I would've cured myself by now. My body is very unstable. |

Tnks. Do you have elbow issues due to ntos? I have ulnar nerve issues at both elbows and it increases with mouse usage. I am at home from last 5 months and afraid to go to office. Reagards Ramdas |
my tos is from ehlers danlos syndrome so it's different. my ulnar nerve doesn't bother that much, pinky and ring finger less numb whereas my entire median nerve distribution is chronically irritated (straight thru my elbow it burns)
my first rib and neck vertebrae sublux constantly and make everything pinched/burny i've noticed most everyone here complains mostly about ulnar |

My left arm is ulnar, but my right is median and axillary. Good times. :o |

Did you try Prolotherapy? |
Friends,
I am having bilateral cervical ribs in c7. I m 27 yrs old frm India. Pbm diagnosed 8 yrs back in my college life. Consulted chief neurosurgeon. He said surgery not possible and taught stretch exercise. Did it but no improvement in symptoms. From then life has been very painful for me. Struggled to write exams due to pins and needles in shoulder blade and arms and fingers. Got selected in campus interview in major IT concern in India but had to quit after working for 1 and half yrs due to intolerable pain. Tried homeopathic treatment for 1 year but symptoms didnt improve. As long as i m at rest my symptoms fade away . And as soon as i do any work (driving bike, carryibg very small weight , using computer or mobile....) symptoms come again. After 3 yrs now i started studying for competitive exams for government jobs .. almost 4 months of study and symptoms came again. Feeling depressed.. dont know wat career to select. And which hospital to go for better treatment. Plz help. |
Marie J, You can improve , if not recover if your symptoms fade away..with rest..
Search out advanced/expert therapist or chiropractors that do soft tissue and much hands on work. maybe-- Top rib mobilisations alignment /posture work/head & shoulders not forward or hunched or rolled get checked for trigger points in muscles ( you can't stretch or relax a muscle that has trigger points.. explore the sticky threads section above on the main TOS page- \https://www.neurotalk.org/forum24/ |

Avoid any manual therapy, mobilizations etc by PTs in India (especially visiting ones from abroad, you dont want to be their experiment) Again, gradual strengthening may work, or wearing a shoulder brace (look for those that gently bring your shoulders back) Also explore surgery as a last option. You are a case of true TOS and a proper cardio-thoracic surgeon may actually do wonders. Only go to those who have done the surgery many times before and ask to speak to ex patients. |
