Question Help...tight pain round arms

I am experiencing tight pain around both of my upper arms....it was just the one but now both. Feels like say blood pressure cuff inflated around arm plus burning sensation...I am awaiting ct angio. I also have pain going up left side of neck.. Not very pleasant at all....this is not responding to the combination meds I am on for pain ....just wondered if anyone else explain and maybe it will support/conform what I think....hat sounds really confusing, sorry, tis late. painkillers on board, should go to bed - then not sleep

I know there are older posts about tightness around bicep areas... you can search for them later on when you are more awake ..

For the neck, I like:

-- This self massage video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-DtnHFvpL0

-- This Feldenkrais therapy movement, one of the few that have helped me:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9p7_XPK6lM

-- The "Bed Buddy" heat wrap

For my arms, I have to get my neck, collar bone, shoulder and pec minor straightened out.

Good luck!

I have a similar tightness in my forearms. It feels like someone has wrapped my arms in Saran Wrap. Some days are better than others but when it is at its worst, I have trouble opening my hands. I tend to flare bilaterally. I was diagnosed with bilateral venous TOS and have only had the rib removed on my right side. Left side surgery is in a holding pattern.

Thanks Tpula

I am a bilateral sufferer. Had bilateral surgeries originally about 25 years ago and re do surgery to the re problem side 10years ago...don't remember ever having this tight horrid pain in arm before. You say you have trouble opening hands? As in being able to stretch the fingers out? My hand in partic the left feels it wants to be curled. I am not flaring equally but have other issues besides TOS. At present even my axilla and breast hurt today. Angio soon and other investigations and then plan by surgeon...

Thanks and tale care. If you do get to requiring surgery, make sure you are prepared for post op phase..lots of help on here. I have not been posting a lot for some years due to other problems but the guys on here are very supportive and have lots of information they share.

Happy Christmas

That's exactly what I feel in my hands when I am at my worst. My fingers just want to stay curled. My forearm extensor muscles get tight and painful making it very uncomfortable to do anything with my fingers. The right side armpit/levator scapulae pain has lessened following my surgery, however, all of my downstream problems persist. I did the rib resection robotically which left me with nerve damage and muscle dysfunction in my chest wall. Most days it feels like I have a 20lb weight sitting on my chest. This is why I haven't proceeded with the second surgery as of yet. My left side has been miserable and all I can do is ice and take pain meds. I get severe burning pain on the front of my shoulder and levator scapulae. Sometimes it shuts off and moves to the C7-T1 cervical spine but my MRIs are negative for disc problems. I thought I had things figured out but am back in the medical ping pong game hell once again

Happy Holidays!

I don't know if it will be helpful for anyone, but it might be worth a try to look into Kinesio taping.
I have a shoulder injury right now, and the taping really gives stability & support..
PTs, trainers and some chiros may know how to do it.
I just looked up some videos and figured it out along with the instructions that were in the box.
There are other brand names also.
