Default Once Again Help Needed

HEy Everyone.....Once again I am turing to you for some help. I have found the name of a doc in Bangor Maine that specializes in TOS. His name is Dr. Gary Keller. Has anyone heard anything of him at all?? I may be able to get surgery moved up with him but dont want him to touch me if he is not experienced enough.
Anything good or bad would be appreciated
Thanks Again Everyone!!!

Rach

Hi Racheal; I did a little research and found Doctor Gary Keller at Eastern Maine Medical Centre. Heres a link,. if no others know of him at least you can reseach him a bit.

Default Thanks hairdresser

I was able to get that info at EMMC, there was nothing else. I was hoping someone may have a tale or two. It seems he is not well known in the TOS family, which makes me nervous about seeing him.

Hi Rachael; Wish I had more information. It's scary enough thinking about surgery. Even worse without hearing any information about the surgeon. Dr. Bethune would be my first choice, only because he's so experienced with tos. A surgeon with a two year waiting list!! It really is a long time to wait.

Just thought I'd bump this thread up for Racheal again. Has anyone been treated by Dr. Gary Keller at Eastern Maine Medical Centre.

I haven't heard his name mentioned by anyone here - but he could be good anyway.
It might be one of those meet them and decide after you talk with them things.

Possibly you can email, fax or even call his office and ask for specifics on how many TOS/Brachial plex surgeries he has done and how long has he been doing them??
If you have a fax that might be the best way to get the answers.

why spend money on a visit if he isn't well versed in TOS experiences.

Default Thanks All

My thoughts on this are if his name is not associated with this site or the atos site or the tell me about tos site, then he can't be as qualified as Dr. Bethune. For me, it's just not worth the risk....

I would rather wait for Dr. Bethune who specializes in this and has a good track record. You all agree??

Default This is so neat!!

A couple fo weeks ago I had emailed Dr Annest to see if he happened to know of any TOS specialist in Maine. I couldn't believe it but he actually emailed me back.....(very small town rural girl here....this just doesn't happen here. you pull teeth and nails to get some specialist to even see you). He didn't know anyone in Maine, but gave me 3 names near by. He even said he would be willing to meet with me. He also stressed the importance of seeing someone who knows a lot about TOS. ( this only drives my point home about not wanting to see this doc in Bangor because he can't be too well known or even specialize in it if Dr. Annest didn't know him) I sent his email to W/C to see if I can get a reply from them. Would love to see him but the costs for me would be way too high. Maybe if we all cross our fingers w/c would send me. Maybe my 4.5 year nightmare could come to an end???!!!???

Hi Rachael i was just reading what you have wrote. Is doctor Bethune all ready your doc or are you on a waiting list to see him. He is my doctor and i can't say enough about him he is one of the top doctors i have met since i was told i had tos. He is great with dealing with comp he does not put up with there bull he lets them know how it is. The only down side is it takes so long to get the surgery done. I have been waiting almost two years now its not his fault its because we don't have enough of those doctors who put you to sleep here in nova scotia. Oh ya the other thing i wonted to say was i asked comp if they could find another doctor to speed this up and they sent me to toronto and he end up being the first one to say i did not have tos. But doc B did set them strait as to the fact of tos it was pretty funny i wish i could have seen the faces on the comp people when they read his letter. Any way i just thought i would let you know about doc B i am sure there are a lot more doctors out there that are just as good as him if not better and i would say you have one if he was willing to take the time to email you and talk those kinda of doctors are far and few between good luck i hope all goes well.

Default Thanks Mucker

Hey Mucker...I have already seen Dr Bethune. I am on the waiting list for surgery and am only about 3/4 of a year into it. I get worse daily, but I manage. I gave W/C the list of Docs that Dr. Annest sent me. I feel safe with his choices of docs because I have heard wonderful things about him from the folks here. If I can't see someone on his list, I will wait for Dr. Bethune...no exceptions. W/C will not mess with it now because I am working. I would like to get surgery done and re-coup so I can get on with life (I HOPE)
