Default newly diagnosed & looking for guidance

hello, stumbled across this yesterday and i'm still not quite sure how it works.. I see that there hasn't been much recent activity, but I figured i'd post anyway.

I'm an 18 year old female who had been experiencing symptoms for about two years now. I always chalked my symptoms up to having limbs that "fell asleep" easily, but about a year ago the symptoms greatly worsened. I have a history medical issues related to unstable connective tissue, but I haven't been told whether or not it is related to thoracic outlet syndrome. at first my orthopedic surgeon thought my symptoms were side effects of bilateral elbow surgeries I had done. excess tissue was getting stuck inside my joint and causing my elbow to get stuck, so they removed said tissue.

anyway, about a month ago I had a neck and chest CT scan. I was informed that I have bilateral compression of the subclavian arteries, as well as bilateral enlargement of the C7 transverse processes. my symptoms have been progressively worsening; it all started with mild numbness and tingling, but has turned into numbness and pain that interferes with daily activity.

I have been given the choice to continue with anti-inflammatory pain relievers and physical therapy (which I started about three months ago upon the suspicion of thoracic outlet syndrome) or to explore decompression surgery options. I have a consultation scheduled, but was looking for patient perspectives.

thanks!
