I need some help with this question.... I was playing cards which really upset my symptoms.... Durning the game all of a sudden a got a really burning pain inside my elbow and then up to my shoulder neck and right side of my face... and finally in to my finger... The burning turned my arm red.... and it was a terrible pain.... Has anybody every had tempture changes in their arms.... The pain is the worst today then it has been in awhile...

I am kind of freaked out... .dont really know what it could be... Visbly having it beat red compared to my other side....

Please if anyone has any info let me know i dont see a TOS doctor for 3 weeks same with a neuroligist...

I have better luck playing cards on the computer - holding them in my hands even now at a mild stage really bothers me.

Sometimes if I'm doing certain things - I will get a little ache in my elbow- but then I stop if I can and it will fade away.

But I never have gotten the bad burning like you describe. It could be you were causing more irritation or compression to the nerve while playing cards- posture/arm/hand positions??
Did your arms get fatigued or heavy feeling also? That could indicate more of a vascular compression.

There is the delayed pain reaction with TOS also - that's why you are more sore today.

Has the color returned to normal yet?
Any swelling?

Oh and have you read about RSD? {we have a forum her for it too}

Never have taking a look at RSD what is that?

My fingers and hand are always swollen.... However never this burning hot pain... I am just getting so frustrated... no one can say for sure what is going on with me and my doctor visits seem so far away!

Ok funny you mention that now... I was unofficially dx with RSD and TOS.. .however my doctor was calling it complex regional pain snydrome...

Does any body here have RSD and TOS... I feel like i am holding a bad deck of cards here.... Really getting scared....

I too have been diagnosed with crps...type 1 there are 2 types....type 1 and type 2!

I have not had any of the type of pain that you have had, but it sounds to me like an rsd attack!! This is not a nice feeling...I get the numbness, tingling and changes in colour and sensation which the doc I was seeing told me was rsd, but I think it is vascular compression causing the issues as I have not experienced such pain as you......

Well at least i am not alone.... The pain was horrible... I dont even know how to describe it.... At first i just thought it was pain in my neck going down but then i started turning beat red... and burning... It was a pain... I have never had before...

I have RSD as well and can understand your pain. It sounds like you are having what my Pain Management doctor calls a "flare". I go through them all the time, I wish I could offer you more than words, but I know there is nothing that has helped me with these. Sometimes I can do something, and other times I do the same thing and experience a flare.

I don't have RSD but have read from alot of people on here who have both RSD and TOS. One thing that I've noted in all of those posts is don't use ice on those places that are flaring, it will make it worse.

Hopefully somebody with more knowledge than I should be around to help you with this dilema. It is a good feeling to find this place isn't it? Hope this passes quickly. phoebe

you are absolutely right.. I learned that the hard way.

It felt great to alleviate the pain some, and against my doctor's wishes I used it and my RSD spread, somewhat due to the ice!
