I'm not working- haven't worked since 10/03 except for a 2.5 month "test" {per dr & HR dept } to see if I could return to full work or not - NOT.
That was full duty assembly work - after 4 years of RSI and shoulder injuries - I don't know what they were thinking LOL!

I couldn't do much of anything for a couple of months after that fiasco - but slowly {luckily I did have some good PT and found a good chiro}
I was able to do more and had set backs too- it's a learning process.
each of us are so different in what we can or can't do and what helps or not.

This last year has really been the best since my injury- I can do most home chores, projects and activities with out too much problem. If I do any certain movements or uses continuously and days in a row - then I will have to back off and focus on my stretches and stuff. So I still have to pace myself and watch postures forever I think.

I do watercolor painting, other crafty type stuff, photography {just got a new camera- so learning about all the settings}, gardening, pet care....

Things to do and make some money ??

Pet sitting
house sitting
elder care/visit
senior center activities person

my brain just quit on me LOL

Default Hi Karen

I am always thinking about the ideal job for me and it is funny to read by johannakat :

"2. counseling- either go back to school for a degree in psychology or social work, then concentrate on assisting people with long term disabilities like us, or ADD kids which i also happen to have experience with"

This is my type of job: I work for an association who counsels unemployed people.
There is a lot of computerwork throughout a day as we have a databank and after each session we have to type what we discussed and what we agreed for the following session. I am typing curriculums and letters for the clients and do a lot of internet research for jobs.

Of course, this kind of work is adapted to TOS and it would be perfect for 20h/week. Sitting the whole day and listening to the stories (sometimes it is hard to hear what people already experienced in there life!!!) the whole day makes the neck muscles tight.

In my opinion, the interest and the joy to do something are the base for a solution!!
All the best,
Barbara
