What part of a track ball set up are you clicking when you need to click something?

My problem is the actual clicking. The track ball seems to be solving arm movement, which is not an issue for me. I actually keep my mouse on my thigh (in combination with a thin cloth). The problem is the clicking, which makes me think a touch pad may be more gentle. Not sure!

Hi friends
CLICKING ACTION of mouse causes pain in my arms. I have bilateral cervical ribs.any alternative option to clicking mouse.. touch options? ? plz help. |
