Default Which surgeon?

I have TOS and CRPS on my right side. I also have ulnar neuropathy on that side and have had two ulnar nerve transpositions.

I have seen Dr. Donahue at MGH and he recommends pec minor release. My pain doc also sent me to another surgeon at MGH, Dr. Winograd. He's a trauma/hand/plastics/microsurgeon (also happened to lead the team for the first hand transplant here). Dr. Winograd also recommended the pec minor release.

Because of the CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) surgery puts me at a high risk for the disease worsening or spreading.

I have to decide which doctor to have do the surgery. My pain doc is recommending that I use Dr. Winograd because he's a microsurgeon. As Dr. Winograd explains it a thoracic surgeon focus on what is structurally wrong and a plastics/microsurgeon focuses on the nerves.

I know Dr. Donahue is world renowned for TOS, but should I go with someone who will treat my nerves very delicately? I just can't decide. I like both doctors and feel comfortable with both. I feel that maybe I'm being stupid if I don't pick the doctor that is famous for TOS.

Just trying to sort out my feelings. Any input would be appreciated.
