Default Post TOS Surgery

Hello,

After several years of discomfort and test after test, I underwent surgery for TOS this week for a heavy feeling down my arm and into my hand along with headaches. I had a first rib resection and partial scalenectomy at John's Hopkins. The surgeon said things were very tight in there and thinks I made the right decision. I am only 2 days post op and the heavy feeling is still going down my arm. Is this normal? I know things are still swollen in that area and will take time to subside. I am just worried that I had the surgery for not.

Thanks

It can take weeks & sometimes months for full recovery. Many internal things are moved around during surgery.
it sounds lie you must have had the Vascular type TOS (VTOS) and not NTOS/nerve related..
VTOS usually recovers faster , but always follow drs orders and don't push past any pain or activities until fully healed..
gentle & smooth movements should be safe.. and good for circulation.
