Default Surgery Scars
HI guys,

Wanted to pass along this tid bit for any of us that have scars from our surgeries.

THis stuff is great. Super Joyce the PT gave me some for my TOS surgery and now the thyroid surgery scar. Its reusable and you can wear each strip for like a month or more. And you can wash it too.

I think you can get on amazon. It really helps the scar feel better and fade. I wear mine during the day and take off at night.

is this something that your insurance covered? or do you think it is something the patient should supply (self pay). and how soon after surgery were you able to use it and how much did you use. thx

does anyone have a recommended site or company from which to order medical supplies like this, ice packs, heat packs, TENS supplies, etc

Hi Fern,

Dont know if insurance will cover. I got a strip of mine from the PT. I started using it about 1 month after surgery.

I have had it on at 2 docs appts and they both commented on how well the scar looked and wrote it down.

The nice thing is its reusable for about one month and the sheet is big enough that it supplies several strips.

I just ordered more from Amazon.

I wish they had this when my 12 yr. old had thro. cancer it was turtle necks.
But he was into the scare is my bagde of courage age,very brave..Kids came
up and asked him if he tried to kill himself by cutting his troat!!He asked them if they were loosing brain cells from drugs,he tough still is at 30. But it's just what i need.... Sue i'm getting over my fear of the chat room

Hi

Thanks for the information! Sounds like it would be a great product. I'd like to minimize the scar I'm going to have on my neck as much as possible...

You mentioned that the piece lasts about a month - do you just rinse it off and it resticks? Is 1 piece enough to cover an average resection scar?

Yeah its great. I take it off every night and wash it with soap and let it air dry and then its sticky again.

Wish I had this years ago.
With ALL my TOS scars and cancer surgeries my body looks like a friggin rail road track.
Wont be wearing any Britney Spears jeans or 2 pieces in my later life time.
Unless a body resculpturing is in my future.
