Well, I had my day in court. At least that's what they would hope I'd believe...not hardly.
I end up with STILL no money and now they want me to go to school before I'm declared PPD or PTD. It was a nightmare, when I read the judge's order I received about 12 days after the trial I cried for 2 hours straight. It's still hard to talk about it. So while I'm in the voc rehab or being tested for it I will start getting the same amount I got before MMI and the trial. The problem is I don't get any payment for the 6 months that I have not received any benefits. So until they start the school and/or testing (which we all know is done on their timetable, not ours, I'm still hanging out there on the proverbial limb....upside down by the toes..... I hate the state of OK and everyone in it except Bob Stoops and Barry Switzer. I've lived here all my life! I knew when they made me go to Dr. M for pain management, instead of another one that I requested, that I would get screwed-somehow I just knew it.... He's more worried about if I've gotten a settlement yet than he is about my current medical condition. Oh and the reports he sends in are truly a work of fiction, the worst one I never got to see until I was in the actual courtroom, two seconds before I had to take the stand. I am so mad after I finally got to read the whole thing. I called the lawyer's office and of course only got to speak to the poor office manager. She's endured a lot of my rants in the last 4 years. The lawyer was supposed to call me Thursday night. OF COURSE, NO CALL! I can't wait another whole two years or so before I get my money back from March until now, I'm down to my last $$$ that my mom left me last year. Then I'll be looking for a cardboard box to live in. If you've read this far, I thank you. Sandy Last edited by sandy1955; 09-29-2007 at 07:51 PM. Reason: needed to make a change |

My thoughts and sympathy go out to you. There is nothing more traumatizing in law than reading a cold judgment and being just shocked by what a judge orders out of "thin air" almost...you've got to wonder, WHY? I can't answer that, either.
All I can say, is be very, very good to yourself and easy on yourself until this trauma eases some. As for VR and testing, be upfront and vocal about symptoms, limitations, etc., and try your best to present yourself accurately for yourself. You are not through, unfortunately, with this process, it sounds like. So you've still got to be "there" for yourself, if you get what I mean. God bless you and hopefully change some future outcomes for you. |

Sandy, I am sorry I don't know more about your situation. I can only say that I wish you the strength to continue on in the good fight.

it's so unfair. so hard to understand why things don't work out better.
Yes, please be good to yourself. try to take a rest from all of it for a time until you find out what if anything you can do when you do connect w/your atty. this may be a good time to visualize something more positive than the cardboard box scenario. I am sending you many positve affirmations and many hugs. fern |

I'm sorry they have treated you like this Sandy. Be very vocal at VR, and make sure they see you in a flare up from what they have you do and get it documented - even if you have to document it yourself. I am so about this!!! Some good advice above... Anne
