seeing a really awesome sunrise or sunset, with beautiful colors in the sky.
or when the clouds part and the sun is shining thru with the streamers going towards the ground. Even better if a rainbow too. A country song that tells a good story and has a great melody. Seeing an eagle fly over the wetlands near my home. Family gatherings when everyone is having a good time. What are some of your favorite things??? |

calm and peaceful surroundings
Watching the wildlife in my back yard good music (60's, 70's, 80's) being able to help others... only if it's an ear to listen or a smile to give. going to Mass (or prayer) watching science or other educational programs that make my brain WORK.

- curling up on the couch to watch a good movie and having one of my cats curl up with me
- sitting on my deck and watching a summer thunderstorm - going to the lake house and taking a nap in the hammock - a comfortable couch with a good book, a warm blanket, and a cold diet pepsi - feeling well enough to do work on my art work - my husbands laugh... which sounds half like a mans belly laugh and half like a childs giggle

My little one's and grandson.
The sweetest smell and feeling is the newborn baby, Just pressing your face into the banket they slept in, watching their first wobbly steps, and being feed a fist full of squished speghetti. We down, my little man will always do something so moving that your thankful for the day and being alive. As soon as the car stops and the door opens his arms and legs are going calling gamma. My cat's too know when I am blue, or hurting. They will sleep at my feet and on my hip, or nuzzled up real close. Children and animals are so unconditional giving and sharing of their love. great thread Jo, Di

When my husband brings me coffee and the newspaper in bed when I wake up in the morning..
My family that lives in Arizona and being able to spend time with them which is not as much as I would like.. Being able to cuddle up to my two Miniture Schnauzers.. aka..My Kids.. And being brought almost every toy in the toy box when I don't feel well.. The smell and taste of a warm gooey Chocolate Chip Cookie just out of the oven.. Being able to paint my pastels of the animals that I love so much.. The warm sunshine on my face and the songs of the birds outside.. And hoping that one day I will be able to ride with my husband on the motorcycle again.. Those are some of my favorite things... ((Hugs)) Dawn

You helped me remember another favorite of my own...
My cat Guinness who loves to help me wake up to my alarm in the morning. He lays on me, paws at my face (no claws), puts his face right next to mine and meows, licks my hands, play-bites my fingers when I hit the snooze button on the alarm, and just generally works very hard to wake me up and be cute and adorable. Of course he does it because he gets fed as soon as I wake up but it's so nice to wake up with a smile or a laugh every morning.
