Default NY Times 3-Part Series on Chronic Pain

Hi all,

Wanted to let you know that the New York Times is running a 3-part series on chronic pain.

Today's column, titled "Chronic Pain: A Burden Often Shared" is EXCELLENT. It describes how chronic pain effects personal relationships, and provides useful, practical advice (from a supportive perspective) for spouses/family members/caregivers.

Last week's column, "Living With Pain That Just Won't Go Away," was good too, although a little more general. One thing that was new to me was a discussion of the difference between what the article calls the two categories of chronic pain (neuropathic and nociceptive).

I think several people have posted in the last few months about the difficulty that spouses/family members have had maintaining a supportive perspective . Hope today's column helps!

I'll try to remember to post the link for the final column next week.
