Just wanted to send my blessings out to ALL and your families.
I am blessed to have YOU~ALL, the forum, the smart and sharing TOS friends here. Even with TOS and the pain we do have a few things to be thankful for, right? We have each other We are going down to San Diego to spend time with Phil's family. Fun bunch of peeps. The issue is: driving to SD is such a pain I looked into Amtrack and its $87 round trip pp from my house. What a rip on Turkey day. I would be so better off so I can get up and down and not stuck in traffic and be in pain when I get there and then the dreaded drive back. It will all work out some how some way Thats what they make drugs for, right? Gibbrn: I owe you lidoderm patches...pm me your address, k? |

I can't tolerate any drive-travel anymore - and so it ruins the holiday if I try and push it. The shaking and vibrations automatically bring on a flare, as the body muscles try to hold an even stance or posture.
I do make calls, to all of my loved ones, and some who are not-so-nice also, so that even though I'm not there, they know I love them and would be if I could. I get a calling card so that it doesn't cost much, and I really do try to talk to each person there, if they feel like talking, and surprisingly, some want to go into another room and really have a heart-to-heart! If for some reason we really have to go to a family function, everyone now allows me to head straight to "a bed" and I get to sleep, etc., while everyone visits, and I get up when / if I can - everyone has become really accepting of my TOS condition! I live in PJs now for four years. This is so much better than the old game of forcing the drive, forcing the shower / hair / makeup, forcing "party" clothes - cooking - bringing something or gifts, etc. Now everyone knows what I can and can't do, and it's become so much easier on me... god bless everyone on Turkey Day however it is that they celebrate! |
