Hi
I have beeb having real bad dizzy spells. When getting up I feel like I'm going to fall over. I have been so dizzy that I feel sick. I have trouble walking without supprt. I actually look like I'm drunk...it's horrible. I knew something wasn't right so I went looking for help. I had a hearing test and balance test done and everything was ABNORMAL! I've never had any problems before in my life! I can't even stand up straight lately. I have seen 3 different ENT's who feel this is all coming from the neck (TOS). Even the vascular surgeon agreed. The question is...will it be permanent damage to the inner ear? We don't know. They are hoping that once the TOS gets managed ...it will all get better. A PT confirmed yesterday that the vertigo is coming from the TOS and at this point my only option is surgery. I'm scared about everything and I was going to post yesterday but I was absorbing everything and I felt really crappy. I want to be pain free and I want my life back. Wish you lots of luck

And there can be so many TOS reasons for this... Inner ear nerve damage - permanent or temporary... Circulation halted and the fluids are just interfering with your normal functions... and I'm sure there are more... |

Have you seen this page-
http://tos-syndrome.com/newpage12.htm Do any of the other VERTEBRAL ARTERY symptoms fit for you? I had many of those but after the worst of my neck/shoulder pain was resolved from PT & chiro they faded away. My voice is still not as strong as it used to be - I used to be able to sing without my voice cracking DIPLOPIA, - double vision DYSARTHRIA, weakness or incoordination of the speech muscles. Speech is slow, weak, imprecise or uncoordinated. ... DYSPHONIA, voice changes, hoarseness or other phonation disorders DYSPHAGIA- i think this is trouble swallowing

Well I have had the weak voice for over a year .
The difficulty swallowing is off and on, depending on the condition of my neck at any given time. thanks richard |

I too have difficulty with swallowing. It drives me NUTS! I figured it had to be due to the TOS. No other explanation for it. Somedays it's really bad adn also I have trouble talking. I wouldn't wish TOS on anyone! It's awful in every way shape and form.

Count me in on the sometimes dizziness club
My voice sounds okay speaking, but cracks all the time if I sing along to the radio. |

I had the same problem from time to time before my surgery.
Lightheadedness while even just sitting, and sometimes problems getting words out without stumbling over them. They thought once I had had a stroke, but of coarse when tests were ran and they didn't see that........that was when I was told I needed a Shrink. Of coarse, this was before TOS was diagnosed. Feel better soon! I know that's a bad feeling!
