Hello,
Has anyone had a MRA/MRV/MRI...if so what was the narrowing ( the MM ) Mine was 6mm on the right side and 7mm on the left. Dr. Avery in S.F. has suggested surgery asap on the right and perhaps later on the left. He told me the reason for my severe pain was due to how small the space was between the 1st rib and the clavicle. Thanks Last edited by annhere; 10-12-2006 at 10:40 PM. |

Hi Annhere,
Yes, I've had the MRA/MRV/MRI. My report is very long and dense, so I may be missing something, but I don't see any place where it indicates a specific measurement in reference to compression. It has more general references to compression/stenosis of the subclavian artery and multiple veins (e.g. subclavian, axillary, cephalic, jugular etc. etc.) It also indicates interscalene triangle fibrosis and more fun stuff. Sorry I couldn't help with the specific info you requested but I wanted to be sure you got a response. Pls. feel free to PM me if you would like. Good luck! |

Hi annhere- welcome
Where was the narrowing located? If it was in the spinal column you might also post in the Spinal forums to get more info from those sources. |

Annhere-
I have not had the test you describe- but there is a special ultrasound examination that Dr. Jordan does ( i do not know if it has a name) and he told me that my circulation was completely cut off by the time my right arm was up to shoulder level. When I asked him how bad that was relative to other cases of TOS he has seen, he said "pretty bad". I got the options of Botox or surgery, with the strong suggestion that I try the botox first. |

I am having the procedure next week. He injects the scalene muscles, and one (or two?) pectoral muscles. I'll be happy to give an update after...
