It's interesting you mention hypermobility - I never thought that my over-extended elbows, knees, etc. made any difference. But I now know it does - especially with the elbow pain. :)

Gotta love yet another DX and complication. :)

thanks for asking. it was horrid. absolutley horrid. the man was extremely aggressive with his exam and his judgements. he did a minimal exam for TOS by putting his tuning fork on my arms and then told me that all the specialists i've seen over the years were not at all knowledgable about TOS. he berated all the denver doctors, Peter Edgelow, the use of the 3D MRI and pretty much everything that was used to treat or diax me.

He did order an EMG that uses protocol that Dr Annest gave me but only after I insisted that I would travel for the study unless he ordered these specifics onto what he wanted for himself. And he told me that TOS is only identified by EMGs and that the scalene blocks, pec-minor block, the 3DMRI, the diax from exams by TOS expert surgeons and PT were all useless. Then he told me that Neurologists don't prescribe meds, that I should get them from a Primary doc instead. And that because the one I saw felt I should have my meds prescibed by someone treating me for the condition, he told me to find a new one. Oh and get this; the guy said should probably get an operation or 2 for bilateral Carpal Tunnel--which btw, the other docs diax as double crush before. But this know-it-all had never heard of double-crush. I knew it was useless to communicate further when he told me the 3 expert surgeons all rec. surgery for another condiition I have were all incorrect and that the condition could only be determined by a test he knew of. OH, and then he said only a pediatrics orthopedist could diax Hypermobility and that it wasn't worth knowing because there's nothing to treat it. Of course we know here that the information is useful even if there's not a pill to take.

I feel so lucky to have proper diax and care in the past. I am still feeling the sting and flare of both the exam and the poor treatment. I have a great more empathy for DeAnee and Di now that I've been trhough the ringer trying to get care in a new city. I certainly don't plan to go back to this doctor. I do have 2 tests scheduled here in town, a repeat vnogram and the EMG. If necessary I'll take the test results to Denver or see if I can hire one of those docs to read them for me. IN the meantime I am trying to get my body in decent shape so that I won't slide too far back after another surgery.
