Thanks Anne.......it does. Although I might be able to pull off a few more jumping jacks than you, the rest of it sounds eerily familiar.

The money will be such a godsend. I do have my fingers crossed, but I try not to think about it as the wait is sooooooo frustrating.

I hope you can earmark a bit of yours (after catching up on bills, I know) for massages. It's been awhile for me, but I feel like a million bucks (for an hour or two) after I have one.

Thumbs up Oh-yeah.

Just wanted to share the good news, and provide a timeline to this thread...

My Golden Check Just Hit!!!

WHOO-HOO!

Time to tithe, pay debts, invest for kids college, and get the recliner and dual-reclining automatic sofa I've been dreaming of!

Default O, Astern

I am so excited for you!
It's such a joke after all these years, hey?
I send you BIG fat hugs!
A golden tciket...ahhhh sounds so good.
Isn't it such a weight off?
You can go get the medical treament you deserve & not look back twice.
As if TOS pt's can look back twice.

I just got turned down for the second time.
They say I can move therefore I can work.
Hey, it is what it is & the attorney will be forging ahead with steam since CAL PERS administrative judge ruled in my favor & totally shut down the QME & defense for my retirement disability.
All it took was ALL my documents & emails, $2K for Dr. J to testify, my friend & PT & $20k in attorney fees. LOL

We TOSers need to open up a med legal dept for RSI/TOS patients!

Hi Anne,
I haven't been on the forum for quite awhile so how exciting
to get on and see really good news!!! You deserve good things
and I'm just sorry to see that it took so long. But finally you can
relax somewhat. It seems with TOS everything takes sooooo looonngg.
And how hard it is to be patient when you feel so yucky and have little to no income.

I still have the shell you gave me when we met in Denver while at
Presbyterian St. Lukes. It is still beautiful and fits right in with the
rest of my shell family. Funny how you knew just what to give me!

You are a pearl! And not in an irritating way!

Congratulations from Karen! (the old catdog)

I love big checks ! Sweet !

Congrads Astern !

Was this YOUR big check ? Or did you get the kid's retroactive check too ?

Olecyn........hang in there ! If you read through this whole thread, you can see in March I was still in the "denied" class too. I had my ALJ hearing in June and got my big check last month.....still haven't gotten the kid's yet. Keep your fingers crossed and make sure your doctor documents well. I was concerned too that "technically", I can move.....I just pay a horrible price for it. The "thing" that won it for me was not the severe pain, but the fact that I need to lay down with ice packs after I've been up for a few hours.....and nap frequently because I sleep so poorly at night. Having a bed for me to lay down would be too great a "hardship" for an employer per the ruling.

Default catdog!

Karen, great to read you again!
Fins: WHOOP WHOOP! congrats to you too!!

I think having an attorney right from the start kept me from losing heart - they handled all the 'flack' from SS for me... so it was just a waiting game for me. The kids got their retro checks and monthly checks just a few weeks after my award letter. I guess they make kids a priority (as well they should). My Retro check took 7 looong months, but finally hit this week!

The recliner and sofa arrived yesterday - so awesome to be able to spend some time anywhere else but my bed!!

The remaining funds went into CD's for my kids college and future medical needs. I just hope that CD's are a safe place for $$ to be ... this financial crisis has me spinning.

Glad the shell has a happy home! You are a fabulous person!!

Wishing you (and all) a pain-free day!
