I get really bad chest pains on my right side on and off for as long as I can remember. Does anyone else have this problem?

Can you describe it more? Does it happen when you breathe? Deep in the tissue? ....

Oh yes, there are some threads about it.
If you search this forum for "chest pain" or "heart attack" those threads/posts should come up for you. For most here that have had it , it was just muscle spasms and the intercoastal nerve being affected - some did go to ER to be checked for heart attack as the symptoms were so strong. It that side the worst of your other symptoms too? Do you feel tight and kind of locked up on that side? Of course if you think it could be heart related get it checked.

I also had costochondritis {sp} in my mid 20s - inflammation of the breast bone and cartilage - it is a sharp pain whenever your breath or move that area.

yes, it's what started my TOS journey. Heart attack-like pains but on my right side. Had a full heart workup and it came back good...

The pain that I have is always on the right side and I've been having them since I was a child. It feels like my chest is tightening up and it's a sharp stabbing pain. It felt like I was having a heart attack. It mostly happens while I was riding horses, I think the bouncing or jarring from the horse sparked the pain. But it has also happened while I've been running. I usually double over and wait for it to pass. It doesn't happen as much as it used too though, which I'm glad of.

I also have the pains on my right side. Burning and stabbing. I laid flat on the floor and it helped. Pain meds and/or muscle relaxors didn't.

For chest pain check out Autonomic Neuropathy. I had been having symptoms of it for about 6 months before the ER docs and I figured out what was going on. It is very unpleasant.

I don't have TOS but I do get the most awful chest pains. Mine are on the left. They are NOT caused by my heart or lungs, but the pain started after I broke 4 ribs in that area, T4,T5,T6,& T7.
The fractures were about 3 years ago now, but the pain has not let up. My doctor wasn't at all interested when I told him about the pain, and it is severe enough to have me scream out at times. He said I must have trapped a nerve in the bone healing process after the fractures. For that reason, I've always assumed it was a costrochondritis, but I was told by some-one recently that when you break ribs, the muscles between the ribs often set up trigger points (sore spots in muscles) that hurt like the dickens. I'd never heard of these trigger points before, and as my pain is only there when I go from the lying position to sitting or standing, I must be stretching the intercostral (between the ribs) muscles and they sure are the ones that are hurting. This is not the first time I've seen this topic mentioned, and I hope you get some answers soon. When you do, please post them here so we can all learn. ... ![]()
