Default going to the NEW doctor

Hi guys,
I am starting this thread to report on the visits I go to with my new "revamp" your life doctor here in Calgary.

She is amazing. I loved her the moment I met her as she listens and lets you talk as much as you need to without cutting you off. You have to wait usually for your appointment time as she takes as much time as each patient needs. She has a really great lounge area where you can go and lay on a couch or put your feet up and just relax...great little room. I take a good book and patiently wait for my time with her.

Tomorrow my visit should be about food. I am recording how much protein I am taking in, in oz. and I am amazed at how little I am eating. MFP---meat fish or poultry is the acronym. Try recording what you eat for a week and see how much you are eating you will be amazed.

I do however feel I have to talk business about a letter that my LTD company wants so that my payments continue. She wants to write it with me and have my say in what it will say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love her to bits.
I will keep posting updates of how the appointments go and what I am learning about!

love and hugs to all,
Victoria

Default Visit on Monday July 14 2008

Hi all,

had a visit yesterday. Was a good one. at the beginning of the visit we go over a sheet that I fill out before I go in that says what is better in my life and what is worse since the last visit.

I did my thing and then we go over the list and get strategies to deal with the issues I am having and how to handle things. I also needed a note for an insurance company and she dictated the note to her transcription service while I was in the office with her and made sure all the right answers were given .....based on what the ins. co. had asked for. AMAZING right!!! never had that happen. She is my mean lean fighting machine. She is behind me 1000% and will go to bat for me for anything!!!

So my bloodwork came back and I basically have low reticulocites.....the cells tht make red blood cells so basically I am having a problem with the baby cellls that turn in to the cells your body needs...red white..etc.... I have low b12 and we may supplement but she thinks my increase of 5 oz of protein a day will get me the b12 I need. I want to try supplements she says helps only 5% of people who get it.....I;ll take that risk

Not a full visit going over all the work I had done since the last visit ( favourite food list, 20 meals as if on a rest. menu and how I can make myself a better person by using self development ) we had the note to do so it took up most of the visit!

will keep you updated!!

reading the last lecture by Randy Pausch.....dying of pancreatic cancer AMAZING read and AMAZING man!!! def. worth the read ...very quick and you will cry....this was a requst by my doctor to read. Also you can watch the u-tube the last lecture is about 70-80 mins long but get cozy on your heat and give it a watch you will also need tissues nearby!!

love and hugs to you all and thanks for reading my story! I just want to share what I am changing to see if what I am doing will help anybody else.

Victoria

You have a good doc there by the sounds of it Victoria. I am so glad. The low retic count maybe due to you being iron stripped. My little one had low retic count so had to enhance his diet, red meat and high folate containing veg, and made sure he drank orange juice with meals for a while as well.
Hope it helps.
Take care. Hx
