Grin Potty and posture experiment

Hi friends I had an Ah Ha moment...on the potty. Don't laugh, I felt it helped figure out something. POSTURE>
We all know that TOS screws our posture up. The reverse curve to the neck ")" the hump it then in turn makes on the upper back below neck "(" and in return the low back ")"..so whacking out tos posture is:
)
(
)

So now sitting up and correcting feels awkward. Bringing those shoulders back and sitting up straight, It feels so much better to round the shoulders, huching...I even feel as if I am resting my head on the back of my shoulders due to weight and curve.

So now I am sitting my Molly brown and all of a sudden I realize, my head is not tiped back, my shoulders are back and it feel better.....
The difference, the lower part...butt is down, taking the pressure off everywhere else....
Lessening those curves. If I sat forward they came back, but if I sat back and rested my back agaisnt the tank/lid, I improved....

I sit forward, I roll and it hurts, I sit back against the lid, I feel better...

So now I wonder if I can figure out a wedgie foam thing so the butt can dip down to sit on during the day...Maybe invent a seat shaped memory foam

I would get a permant ring on the southern part if I did my sitting there all day, plus my leg would fall asleep from pressure on the nerves.
So my plan this week, find a large seated, wege incline and try it out.
Next time you visit the john, try that sit back let the bottom dip and see what happens to the posture if it does not make the shoulders correct and head tip forward comfortably.
di
PS: I think I am going to take an old egg crate and cut out a size of a deck chair cushion and sit it on the throne.....If you need me, find me there!

How about one of those inflatable donuts for people with a broken tailbone?

Lightbulb Donut

Oh Donuts........Right up my alley after retiring from law enforcement, from one donut to another.Sorry am in a weird mood of late. I need a break.
I think I will look for one though. I do see in my recliner it is better with the low back dip.

I am working on a business plan for an after school program for the latch key kids. A pilot program at the middle school asap. We have room, now need funds.

Back to searching and researching.

Default Hi

great work DI!!!

A few words of wisdom from a nurse....if I can still be called that. NO ring!!!! It stops blood flow to the areas of pressure on the ring. We don't use them at the hospital as it will cause bedsore type issues. the best would be a foam wedge as you said and some sort of air cushion under it. just remembered called a roho.....check them out...expensive but worth it for the sake of your backside's health
http://www.ocelco.com/products/wheel...google&ag=roho

hope that helps in the quest!!!!

love and hugs,
Victoria

Heart I forgot something

there are shoes that do just this with your posture for when you stand!!! they are in my now unread yoga mags......
http://www.earthshoes.ca/earthshoes.ca/index.html

so when you stand they automatically put your posture into the right way ...not like us who still wear heels the wrong way...... guilty....love heels....

anyhoo thought you'd like to know...

love and hugs,
Victoria

Just wondering Di- how would you think those kneeling office chairs would be for us? .... they do that incline thing in order to correct posture but would you think it would encourage the foward head tilt and hunch anyway? ....

Your post is hilarious!! I can totally appreciate your weird mood!! That's my mood too most times :P I applaude you for sharing your revelation in its entirety Now we can all see what yr talkin about!

Default chair

hey thursday,
It was suggested by my massage therapist to try that sort of a chair. I scrapbook a lot and she said to try it out. I don't think they come on wheels though and I would like to move around my studio on the chair. Definitely something to think about! Thanks for bringing it up

take care
love and hugs,
Victoria

Cool

Gee Thursday thanks,Gotta laugh the alternative is tears and I am so tired of crying.
My buds are so good to me!

I never tried one of those chairs, but saw a little ol' lady in her 80's using one for mailing envelopes years ago

But As I am thinking...there are other positions that are my fav, and all clean.
For scrubing floors. Sitting on my computer chair pushing the wet mop around; or rags on my feet to get the nasty corners,

Another chair, the rolling office stool for sorting, getting pots out, racing the cats. Grandson loves to push me around too, LOL.

The folding camp stool, goes everywhere, the kids halloween parades, my college graduation, (left it back stage). I should get a cane type with a seat on it.Taking the youngest to the Mall today, I had to stop at benches, sit on chairs at Limited Too, then had to roll out or the cloth round folding circle thing.
Had 6 year olds in tears and my 12 year old hiding, not even picking me up. the older boy comes in and says why am I on the floor....

I can;t shop the stores or do amusment parks so I have a rollator with a seat on it....or for Katie to get a lift around Disney! Looks like a push cart, great wheels and not a walker looking style. LUV IT, SAM's club $60. Blue, black seat,

Like I said in one post, between the types of ice bags, heat pads, hot water bottles, rice socks, heated foot massager, Bio-freeze, cryogel, two tens units and a tennis ball in a pear tree, I out stocked my grammies bathroom closet.
That tennis ball is well worn out though, the cats don't kneed deep enough; so I put the tennis ball between the wall and my wings, roll and rub and moan and groan. One night the husband had to come out and look to see if I was dying or just happy!

so the next experiment is sleeping. so far I live in my recliner.
Hugs
di

I have one of those kneeling office chairs. While at first it may force you to adopt a slightly different posture, you end up leaning forward, with your lower back arched.
If you can constantly remember to maintain the correct posture then they are probably okay for you. My Dr.s reccomend something called a "Leep" chair. Every part of it is adjustable. If I can I will post a link for it.
