Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good heating pad for shoulder, elbows, and hands?
One that doesn't cost a lot.

my heating pad is made by sunbeam and I got it at my local drugstore. It is about the size of a queen size pillow. It has no cover to wash u can throw the whole thing into the washer when you want to wash it.

plus it is on a timer I always forget to turn mine off so this is the greatest feature for me aside from the great heat of course!!! it is very flexible and can wrap around the shoulder and then around the back. I live on mine!! Could not live without it either!! Want one for every room

This is one that was suggested by our dr office PT person & we like it.
It collects moisture from the air so you get moist heat and you can set time/temp.

I also got a far infrared heating pad but they are kind of spendy
but the good point is they can penetrate deeper into the tissues- much more then reg heating pads.

Hi, on ebay i have seen some of those 8-12 hour heat patches (the ones u can use on your back) - they also have some for your wrist/hand too.....im going to be ordering some as autumn is now approaching and i will have that icy feeling back for prob 95% of the time!

Those other suggestions look pretty good too - i use a small electric heating pad - i dont know what i would do it it broke!...the ones that wrap round the shoulder look fantatic. TOS is such an expensive pain in the butt!!

Thanks Jo and Victoria for the suggestions they are great ! I actually used the heating patches for quite a while when my shoulder froze up and I really liked them especially for night time just be careful if you are sensitive to heat and I wouldn't use them for all night till you get use to them. Hope you find some comfort !

I too love the stick on ones but find the cost prohibitive. here in Canada I have to pay 12.00 for 3 of them or 4 right now they have a bonus on.....For travel I'd pay for them everyday and any day esp on the plane or a long car drive where you can't take your heating pad....but as I sit on mine now....the good quality sunbeam that is a great price....your local walmart will likely carry it too...not that I am trying to sway you! There is I believe a good warranty on the pad as well. but I use mine about all the time I can and am home and able to.

Good idea w/ the stick-on ones vic! I saw a great looking heating pad at Walgreens the other week. It has a heavy layer so it conforms to your body better...

Thx for the info. I'll take more time to go through it all.

My pads are a little different. Infrared and LED lights. There's so much to learn about this technology. So far the only side effect I've found is occasional pimples, but that tells me something's happening there, on a microscopic and cellular basis.

It's good to try different things when you're not progressing.
