Default Pain clinic

Hey everyone good to see brain talk back.It was quite a summer.I missed being home.I was at achronic pain clinic all summer. It was a positve experience for the most part. This is definately,a better program when compared to all other wc programs.I got home and had a couple of weeks off before upper extremity evaluations.Boy, what a bad flare. .I got some new medications, lyrica, tizandine, desipramine, celebrex, and a tens machine. Some weight gain with lyrica,we will see.

Default Pain Clinic

Hello everyone! The pain clinic was a positive experience.Being with other injured workers, sharing experiences, coping stratagies, and being able to tell our own stories, seemed to give strength to all of us.The program was headed by a wonderful, caring physcologist. My day started with stretches, rom for my neck, stretches to open my chest area up,proper posture for my shoulders, and neck.I used the balance ball to strengthen my core region. You sit on the ball and hold one foot up at a time.Hold for a count of 20 seconds, and when you master this do it with your eyes shut, watch the posture.Straight posture. This will also open your chest up,balancing with your arms.I also used the treadmill, stairs, rom for my left arm.I was given a tens machine, which helps with muscle tightness in my neck, and scapula area.My medications were topped up,or I was given new ones. They are:
Lyrica-it is an anti seizure, anti convulsant-also used for burning nerve pain
Desipramine-tricyclic antidepressant,used for neuropathic pain
Tizanidine-muscle relaxer,relieves tightness of muscles,spasms and cramping
Celebrex-pain medication and anti inflammatory
We had 2 lectures a day, quite interesting, ranging from medications,to injuries, nutrition, exercise, and basically what happens physically and mentally after an injury occurs.
I have alot of good sites, will try to write down some links soon.
Hope everyone is ok,Hairdresser
