well my daughter was up from 530am - Noon today - she slept for 1 hour in that time span -
I woke up great! muscles were all shrunk down and no pain! needless to say by 10am from my daughter not taking a good nap etc. I am on FIRE again..... god.... I even took a half soma - I guess I better go take the other half. Do you think I ruined what the shots will do? of course I over did it - but what can you do when you have a baby that needs to be played with and held etc. etc. I hope you all can give me some good advice here - and tell me that the shot effects will come back ..... and I can get some relief. This sucks. |

TYPING TIP: Put a pillow in your lap to rest your arms on. Do this also when you drive. That way you don't drop your shoulders.

for my 5th, 6th and 7th day after the botox shots my muscles are are SO tight/sore and in PAIN. Is this normal? The burning pain seems to be gone... so this is a new pain - the old pain is way better or gone...
Thanks for your input! Conster |

Conster- I had pain from the injections themselves for a good couple of weeks. Actually, just over the past couple of days I have started to feel quite a bit better...a full month after the injections. Not sure if the botox is kicking in, the injection pain is wearing off, or the chiro/massage therapist I am seeing three times a week is really doing something good.
Give it time. Your doctor just went to a bunch of your muscles that hurt the most and jammed a needle in...doesn't it seem logical to have pain from that? For your sake I hope it wears off soon...but don't give up for a couple of weeks. Johanna |

I have seen Drs that were posted in threads that were not covered under the Drs. Sticky List at the top of the thread page... it is difficult to find/monitor all threads for new doctors that need to be added to this list and I ask if you would send this info. directly to me via. a PM to DDayMBB,
when doing so I ask that you provide Drs, name, specialty, address, phone number and E-mail address if known thank you DDayMBB it would make it quicker and easier to get it up on the board quicker also one other request is to make sure the Dr or PT you want added is not already up on the board, unless there is a change of address, phone number etc. again please PM this info. to DDayMBB ~~~Mark-n-Goober~~~

johanna - how are you feeling now after the thanksgiving holiday? boy, tday was TOUGH for me.... I am doing pretty good! I still get spasms - but with rest (when daughter is napping) usually helps alot. before the shots, rest didn't help...
It is my first round of Botox so I am hoping that with each time (every 3 months) that I will get better and better! fingers crossed!! I have taken my darvocet from a previous dr. and that really helps me too - I am trying sooooo hard to NOT take meds b/c my pain dr. is trying to get me off them completely. The Soma was making me tired and such - so I went to the darvocet. The vicodin is too much for me with my daughter... Before I was pregnant I used to take two darvocet and two soma just to function - I have no idea how I am doing it now... its so hard. Maybe I should call the dr. tomorrow and get an appt. to see if they WILL give me a script for darvocet - I don't have a lot left. xxxooooo let me know how you are feeling now. Thanks! Conster |

Hi Conster! I was wondering how you were doing. I had two very good weeks right after the 4 week mark of having my shots (so, weeks 5 and 6 were really good) Then, feeling so good I did a little yard work thsi past weekend. I am paying for it a little this week, but not nearly as bad as similar activity would have done to me in the past. SO..I'll remain positive that what I am doing is working.
I define 'better' as I have been taking 1 vicadin every day or every other day...vs before I was taking 1-2 vicadin per day. The massage therapist at my chiropractor and the Hellerworker who I saw today both have commented that the side I got more botox on feels looser than the side that got less. This seems like a good thing- that it is actually doing what it is supposed to. I am trying to take this opportunity to make the most of massage and manipulation therapies to try to work the muscles and tissues while they are chemically loosened. I hope that it will pay off. I am cautiously optomistic, but since it is still pretty early...well, who knows what will happen. I do still love that end of the day meeting with my heating pad, though.... speaking of which, it is calling me!!! Talk again soon... Johanna |

Doc had me do a 2 week trial of it {celebrex} at the beginning of my RSI injury {pain was mainly in hands and forearms then} It didn't do anything for me.
I think I read it was more for joint or arthritis pain - I know my dad took it for his DDD pain for awhile.
