Default Help - blood test results, can anyone read?

I am going to have to wait weeks to find out what these mean, they were blood test results under "immunology."

anti-nuclear AB 1+homog High

XCLA-IGM 27.6 High

C3 179.0 high

CRP, one was high at 3, other high at 1.8

RFQIGM 9.0 high

Other ones I noted:

Estradiol Menopause High

I have 0 iron, anemic? and no Vit D (how can that be when I live on milk?)

AST 47 high
ALT 77 high

GGTP 144 high

and of course my diabetes is out of control, because I am inactive, so do not take Lyrica if you tend to gain weight as this was the med (with CYmbalta) that gave me diabetes II, within three months of starting it.

I have searched the NET trying to figure out these codes but they only seem to focus on heart related stuff, not the immunological blood tests.

Right now I am having severely symptomatic days, then a day of relief, (not bad pain or symptoms at all), and then BANG they come back like a demon and I literally cry in bed begging God to stop the pain. This is a new cycle, as I used to go weeks in bed, then have few better days or week, then weeks of bad, etc. The cycle is shortening now, faster cycling.

I am on Fentanyl as my baseline, with Vicodeine for break through and Ambien. Believe it or not, this new med regime made lots of my blood test results IMPROVE. These are BETTER ones than three years ago.

Can anyone decipher them for me??? Thank you so much!

P.S. Just because I posted these few codes does not mean or imply that I am waiving my rights to medical privacy and are for discussion purposes only. Heart hey Tam

you use such different units in the US! I can't make heads nor tails of your b/w
however I can say that you must be aware that fentanyl will lower your blood pressure. Mine was so bad all I could do was lay in bed all day and be a space cadet....no blood to brain as bp too low.....pls get a home bp device and make sure you are not low!!!! I had to come off it despite the great pain relief....then back on the oxycontin that my doc won't increase despite my pain!!!

sorry I can't help more....just watch your blood pressure my dear!!!
lots of gentle hugs and love!!
Vic

Default vit d thots

some excerpts from

http://www.ehow.com/about_4571713_vi...eficiency.html

One D vitamin, classified as D2, comes from food, while vitamin D3 is synthesized in the skin when we are exposed to sunlight.

The form of vitamin D we get from our food sources is not readily available for the body's use until it is converted by the liver and kidneys. People with liver, kidney, gallbladder and intestinal disorders may have a difficult time of converting vitamin D to the usable form and are at risk for vitamin D deficiency. Very dark-skinned people such as African Americans are also at risk for vitamin D deficiency as their skin pigment blocks ultraviolet light rays. Those who limit their exposure to the sun through the use of high-SPF sunblocks or who do not venture outdoors for exercise or sport are also at a high risk for vitamin D deficiencies.

Patients who are taking cholesterol-lowering drugs such as statins, antacids, mineral oil and steroids should know that these drugs interfere with the absorption of vitamin D. Thiazide diuretics, such as HCTZ, disrupt the balance between calcium and vitamin D in the body; patients should have a regular metabolic panel to determine the level of vitamin D and calcium in their bodies. Vitamin D should not be taken without calcium; in the absence of the latter, vitamin D pulls calcium from the bones and teeth in order to synthesize with it, resulting in possible breakage.

Sources of Vitamin D include fish liver oils, fatty saltwater fish, dairy products and eggs. Butter, cod liver oil, dandelion greens, shiitake and chanterelle mushrooms, oatmeal, oysters, salmon, sardines, sweet potatoes, tuna and vegetable oil are all wonderful sources of Vitamin D. Herb sources include alfalfa, horsetail, nettle and parsley.
Care should be taken to consume enough vitamin D in the diet and also to spend some time each day getting a little sun. Twenty minutes per day of sunshine is all that is needed for the proper synthesis of vitamin D. Vitamin D is also available as a supplement, but again, this should be taken only with calcium to prevent compromise of bone and muscle strength.

my recipe

boil water and throw in a bunch of parsley simmer 3 minutes, strain. drink the liquid. this will improve liver & gall bladder function and maybe aid the absorption.

on the Vit D thing - I read , last year sometime, that in winter for those north of the equator it takes a bit longer.
if the sun is low in the horizon stay in the sun longer than the 20 minutes.
The farther north the longer you need.

One doc also mentioned no sunglasses as the eyes will absorb it quicker - but of course don't look at the sun directly.
i know you all know that part..

face towards the light so eyes can get the reflected rays- and exposed skin will better absorb also.

You can read here about the IgM test:
http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/i...obulins?page=2
check all 3 pages.

This explains the 3 liver tests:
http://arthritis.about.com/od/diagno...bloodtests.htm
The AST, ALP and GGTP are just out of range. Serious illness (like a viral infection) can throw these numbers really high.
High like in the hundreds.

C-reactive protein is a marker for inflammation.

I can't see how your iron can be zero...
Was this TIBC or ferritin or what?

What did your doctor say about the Vit D? And Iron?

So I guess you need to have a talk with the doctor.

Shelley asked me to look at this thread. I don't think anyone here can give "medical" type interpretations of these numbers, since your medical history would show trends and other data.
But I have provided the links so you can learn what some of them mean at least.

Just curious, how much Estradiol do you take? I take .1mg. anything over this and I break out in teenage acne. The Dr. thinks I should stop taking it, but I wanted to wait till I'm 50. I had a total hysterectomy at age 40.

You might try taking a good supplement like Caltrate. Good for the bones, good for eliminating colon polyps, and if taken at bedtime, it will give you a noticeably deeper sleep - try it!
