Hi Again,
I am not using Lyrica, I use Neurontin and am happy with it. But hubby uses Lyrica and is now experiencing swelling in his ankles. We noticed an ad for Lyrica in a magazine that said one of the side effects was swelling in the hands and ankles, which hubby has been experiencing. Has anyone else experienced this since going on Lyrica?? He has changed other meds. that might be responsible for swelling. Lyrica seems to be the only med. left that might be the culprit. He hates to change that if it is not necessary. Thanks in advance for your input!! Hugs and best wishes to all, G~ |

Hi,
I had the same problem with lyrica, along with others but it was the swelling that convinced my going off it. The dr was tirating me up slowly and the more I took the worse it got. Tell DH good luck. LindaM(suede) |

Hello,GromlilY,wanted to let you know common side effects of lyrica are dizziness, and sleepiness, confusion, difficulty concentrating, nausea, constipation, Dry mouth, swelling of the hands and feet, blurry vision, weight gain.I would let my family doctor know if these side effects are troublesome and continue.I felt very sleepy when I first started taking lyrica, had weight gain, and had some dizziness.I however do find it works well for burning nerve pain. This medicine slows down your metabolisim and combined with a tricyclic antidepressant it can pack on pounds.Hope this helps.

My gp was of the opinion that Lyrica was difficult for the kidneys to process and periodic screening was essential for use of this drug.
