HI, First time I've written. had TOS surgery 8 weeks ago. Anyway, My fingers turned color because my rib was pinching off the artery to my arm whenever I moved it, They said it was like having heart attacks in my arm all day from lack of blood, maybe this is happening to you... Caryn

Thanks! Well I have a pulse in my arm now and my shoulder is better, but I can't get the swelling to go down, and can't lay down because my arm and hand now goes tingling, numb, pain... The Phys. Therapist thinks swelling is pushing on my nerves, so it seems a new set of ongoing pain has emerged. It's been so nice to read that I'm not alone!! I'm so tired of seeing people and them telling me that I look good so I must be feeling good! They don't know it takes everything I have to get ready and leave the house. It took me hours to write this because of the pain so I'm done for now... Take care

Was in to see Dr Togut, he attributes it to a cirulation problem probably due to CRPS/RSD and he has started me on Clonidine(a BP med) which he hopes will increase my circulation. I also have this problem in my feet and shins... so now I wear heavy socks and gloves even to bed if this wil help tough have to thank you for your concern

Default Hi Mark,

I was reading through all the posts and lave really picked up alot of information. I too get the swelling when walking, especially in the summer. My hands turn all of the colors described and most of the time my toes are red or purple. Swelling was a constant prior to my surgery in both arms, especially the left, my dominant side. Now I only swell when I over do. My hands will turn purple when I am sitting with them hanging by my side, so I usually keep them slightly curled and in my lap.

That is interesting about the clonidine, my husband takes it in addition to nhis other meds. for his radiation burns from his cancer treatment. Also, a friend of ours takes it for his epilepsy. I'd like to know if it works well for you Mark. Would you please keep me updated on that? If it works for you I'd like to ask Dr. Ellis about trying it.

Thanks,
G~
