Default Hello to Old Friends

Hello ,

It's been a long time since I've checked in or posted but was thinking of this place last night and wanted to send well wishes.

My son is doing well-a junior now in college and spending his year abroad in Rome (last semester in Greece). He has gotten to travel quite a bit in Europe and has loved this!! Who would have thought that the boy who didn't want to go to school due to teasing/bullying would feel enough confidence to do this? It has been a relief and a gift from God for him to be able to do this. He takes a multivitamin, a probiotic and a fish oil daily (well most days-he is responsible for this). Ticcing is minor.

I hope to check in more often. Work is busy, busy. Looking at colleges with my younger son. My thanks to so many here who have listened, listened, listened and helped. I hope you and your families are well. Bless you all.

Take care,
Tessa

Thumbs up

Hi, Tessa! Thanks for stopping by!

I am glad to hear your son is doing so well. (Mine is too. Just bought his first home in Nov 09)

Mine is working hard in software development, and working on his music and writing when he gets the chance.

I've more or less retired now from working, as I felt I needed some time finally for myself (I am 63 now )

Hi Tessa! How great to hear from you with such encouraging news

my son is doing great, exploring his music and artistic talents while currently temping and learning some skills before he decides on college, likely one of the smaller local schools geared to artistic technology. The addition of the Crohn's Disease to his varied diagnoses threw him a bit of a curve ball, but he has that under control now too with careful diet and supplements, and his tics are mild, OCD so much more "manageable" too

isnt it wonderful that us "old timers" can look back and know that all those early challenges have made our kids stronger and that they have moved forward so well with their lives

I do hope you will stop by again soon.

How great to hear of your sons. They are maturing much quicker than we are !!

Chemar, I didn't know of the Chron's disease-that's a tough load on top of the other issues. I'm glad he's doing well. I work in a large high school and have a number of students with Chrons and also ulcerative colitis. Of course, also students with tics/TS.

My younger son is the musician in my home! I remember Scott's singing success.

Wishing you all well!!

Take care,
Tessa

I too am an old timer on her as dawnee. I think of everyone often. My daughter is 22 now and still has problems with severe ticcing, but inspite of it all this is her senior year at college. We have learned to cope with this syndrome and sometimes it is still rough for her. She is engaged to be married which won't be for a couple of years. Good to see some of you here!

Hi Dawnee,

So good to hear from you !! Wow...your daughter is engaged-CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

How can that be...seems a minute ago she was starting high school. I clearly remember her beautiful singing voice and still think of her every time I hear that Norah Jones song. I hope she is still singing.

My son just started his senior year. He had a great summer doing some research and presenting his work at an international conference. I can hardly believe this myself .

I have been busy travelling around looking at colleges with my younger son this summer. One more day before the school year officially starts !

My best wishes to you all.

Take care,
Tessa
