Off Topic FYI
This first one is a single case study but it is a very interesting article despite the limitations and the financial disclosures of the doctor. Quote:

Note small number of participants - 9 male. one female. several with co-morbids. some medicated. some not. Nonetheless, it's an interesting study. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/1...jnp.12033/full Motor excitability during movement preparation in Tourette syndrome Amelia Draper, Lucinda Jude, Georgina M. Well I know strep infections can cause febrile convulsions as can other childhood viruses and bacterial infections....I wonder if what these researchers were finding was more related to PANS rather than TS?

Well that was sort of what I was thinking.
I'd love to read the full text when it is free, otherwise it is a bit of a puzzle. My first thought was about the actual conditions that preceded the seizures in all of those patients to cause the fever in the first place. Interesting too, is that there was another article on that same page suggesting that low iron and low serum ferritin may be risk factors for febrile seizures in children. Association between iron status and febrile seizures in children Soheila Zareifar, Hamid Reza Hosseinzadeh, Nader Cohan http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/post1041370-86.html older articles re: ferritin, iron anyway...
