I would like to chat with someone who has teens with Tourette Syndrome and co-morbid conditions. I am interested in discussing school issues, medications, counseling, impulsiveness, OCD and more. I am not too good at figuring out this site so be patient if I don't get right back to you if you "hopefully" respond.
I tried to submit and it said to put in a title. I am not sure what that means so I just put Tourette Syndrome on it. Maybe I can get some help from you with figuring this site out. Thanks. |

Hi again
Have you found the resources on the TSA website? I don't share much of their philosophy that medications are the best treatment options, but they do have excellent educational and other resources http://www.tsa-usa.org A very good site for information about TS and co-morbid conditions is at http://www.tourettesyndrome.net and for alternative/comprehensive information there is http://www.latitudes.org where there is also a very good book available on natural treatments for TS http://www.latitudes.org/book.html

Hi psantari,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups. My two children are young adults now so life is very different these days from when they were in school. For my son in particular, the school years were very difficult but that was compounded by the fact he is also on Autism Spectrum. That 2nd site that Chemar gave you is an excellent resource, especially for those dealing with other issues besides TS/tics. e.g. http://www.tourettesyndrome.net/education/ Education http://www.tourettesyndrome.net/behavior/ Behaviour The author of that site Leslie Packer along with Sheryl Pruitt have another site these days called ChallengingKids - Resources http://www.challengingkids.com/?page_id=3 I never did like the name but hey... it has some good info. on there as well. __________________ To answer your question regarding the "title" of the thread... it just means you can put in anything you wish really, but sometimes it helps to put in a short phrase to get attention from people. You did just fine! There is a FAQ to this site which I found helpful. It gives simple answers to the questions we all might have regarding General Forum Usage User Profile Features Reading and Posting Messages http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/faq.php |
