Default fish oil vs. cod liver oil

Hello all,
I see there has been discussions on fish oil here. For those using fish oil, I'm interested to know if anyone uses cod liver oil as their supplement either for yourselves or your child and what effect it has had on tics. I know some say fish oil seems to aggravate tics, but what about just pure cod liver oil? There is a product called "childrens DHA" by nordic naturals that I am interested in, but am shy to use it in case of causing more ticcing, so am interested to know if anyone has any success with this product or just cod liver oil. I think they say the DHA is good for focus and attention, which is what I'd love to improve in my son come school time, so if anyone has any experiences, I'd be interested to know.

Thanks
Faith

Hi faith,
mrsd has some posts regarding cod liver oil. I was just trying to find them. I was given cod liver oil every day of my life as a child. I still remember the taste and the smell of the liquid. Anyway, maybe there is something in these posts that will be of help till someone else comes along.

I used Nordic Naturals for a while and my son had no problem with it. (my daughter still takes it.) i do love the product esp for kids with the strawberry flavor.

my doctor switched him to an omega combination it has fish oil and GLA and evening primrose too. i think evening primrose is very good for tics.

i take only nordic naturals myself for my fish oil.
