Default my son just started taking tennex

my nine year old son has been recently diagnosed with TS. So far he's been on different amounts of keppra, which we now agree is not working for him. he also has developed ADHD and is very disruptive in the classroom along with his very loud vocal tics. We just went to U of Michigan (our third Dr.) She prescribed tennex to help with tics and his behavior at school. We are starting with one half of a one Ml tablet at bedtime. and will increase the dose if needed. Also have been slowly decreasing keppra.
Has anyone had any positive results with this medication?

Hi Lori

I dont personally have knowledge on Tenex buy did find some info on it in the medications section at TS Plus http://www.tourettesyndrome.net/tour...m#Introduction

hope that helps.
My hubby has TS and had a bad reaction to clonidine, and son had very bad side effects from Haldol as well as zyprexa, which were the only tic meds we tried before deciding to try a more natural approach to tic management, which really has been very effective. (son used to be on Luvox too for OCD but again not good side effects, so now uses supplements/diet.) Seems the meds just bring out stuff that is worse than the tics for both my hubby and son, tho I know many have been very helped by them.

hope things are going well
Cheri

Default Supplement Question

Hi! I have TS and OCD and have had some serious side effects from traditional medications in trying to treat them (in fact, I suspect that one of the previous medications I took for OCD made my TS many times worse). I would like to try using supplements and/or herbal remedies to help with the TS and OCD, but have not come across any found to be useful for this purpose in my research. Would you be willing to share what supplements your husband and son take? I won't begin using any of them until I get the OK from my doctor. I'm really hoping this can help! Sincerely, Ellen
