I know this is reply is to an old posting but I am a new member and was wondering if anyone had anymore current information on proper dosage for Abilify. My son is 12 years old but is 180lb.. He has been on abilify for about 6 mo. It was an instant success for his tics, both motor and vocals as well as his OCD. Just in the last two weeks some minor vocals have returned with some regularity. He is on 10mg per day. His body weight has gone up markedly in the last 6 mo. Wondering if an increase dosage may be needed?
Hello Dan and welcome to Neurotalk. I didn't want your post to get lost in that old thread, so I've given you a new one of your own.

We do have members who either have Tourette's, or have family membrs with the condition. By giving you this new thread, I'm hoping that one of them will see this and reply to your post.

Welcome again. I do wish you well with your son and hope you get the answers that you seek.

just wanted to give a PS on our story with Tourette treatment for you too in case it may be helpful

My son has TS/OCD and more, was on meds (not abilify tho) and has been doing real well on a dietary modifcation/nutritional supplement/acupuncture etc type program which seems to be working better for him than the meds were.
He seems chemically hypersensitive and many artificial ingredients set of intense tics and OCD for him. The meds just had a *lot* of side effects. This other treatment method hasnt "cured" him as he does have genetic TS as does my husband, but it sure has helped reduce intensity, severity, and frequency and duration of his tics, especially those very big waxings he used to have, even on the meds.

hope you manage to work out the dose or additions etc to the abilify to help your son. I posted what I know on the abilify on the other thread on abilify for you.
