Default Not for profit TBI foundations and endowment funds

Hello All,

I was surfing the net and came across a non profit TBI endowment fund in Colorado that awards up to $2000 per person for rehabilitation services. I have also read that a lot of therapists will see patients based on a sliding scale. If you aren't familiar with this term, it means they will charge you according to your financial situation. It's very similar to a lawyer taking a case on a pro-bono (sp?) basis.

So, make sure you research into the non profit TBI foundations in your state to see if there is any money there for you, and also don't be afraid to call therapists and ask them if they will treat you on a sliding scale basis. I recently read a neurofeedback book, and the author stated that he was seeing a recently divorced brain injured patient for $10 per session. When asked about it in the book, he replied, "I'm in the business to help people and not to get rich."
