My roommate and family have lovingly put their foot down and I am going to my Dr and I have to be truthful about everything. About crying all the time, staying in my bed for days, not leaving my room or the house for days, not sleeping, anxiety and panic attacks, all of it. I don't want to, I feel like my Dr is anoided with me and doesn't take me serious. She cleared me to work after 2 1/2 months and then I lost my job. Some times I think she thinks I am a drug addic. But if I don't go my family (who lives out of state) wants me to move in with them and being in a new place scares me more than telling the truth. I don't want to go on more meds but I feel like I have to. I don't know any thing about these kinds of meds and I am worried about what they will do to me.
I just don't have any control anymore. |

Mbrook, I know how you feel. I know what it's like to cry all the time and not even know why you're crying. I've been there when I didn't want to tell the dr these symptoms. But they can't get better unless they're treated. Hang in there. It sounds like you've got family that cares about you, and a friend (your roommate). Don't think you are going it alone. I'll keep you in my thoughts and pray that you get better. Hope that you do.

I was suppose to go on SSRI months ago but I refused and now its gotten out of control. Are there any SSRI I should stay away from? Should I tell my Dr that I feel like I bother her and she doesnt take me serious? will this make her not like me? I need her to fill out paperwork for me for assistance so I don't want to make her made but I cant live like this.

I would suggest asking her office help to help you fill out the paperwork. This should not be a big deal.
I have been on Paxil (paroxetine) for 11 years. I do not find it to be a problem. I tolerate it well. Your doctor will likely prescribe what she/he is familiar with. I would suggest getting a referral to a psychiatyrist. They will have a better understanding of the different SSRI's. There are also SNRI's that may help you. Many with PCS have problems with norepinephrine. An SNRI may help with that. Elavil (nortriptyline, a tri-cyclic) is commonly used for PCS. It is effective for PCS at small doses, 10 mgs per day. I'd rather not be on Paxil but I know how I am without it. Not a pleasant experience. If your doctor is willing to try something besides an SNRI or SSRI, it may be worth a try. SNRI's and SSRI's can be a problem when you want to stop taking them. Some people have to taper down very slowly. Hope this help. My best to you.

Dr apt went alright.... I told her the truth about everything- not sleeping, anxiety, loosing my job, my fam wanting me to move if things don't get better, feeling like I have a hangover for every minute of everyday for over 10 months. She made me feel better and apologized for not keeping a closer eye on me and wants to see me more often. As I already know my PCS will take a long time to get better from and I have Post traumatic stress syndrome but she also said I am goraphobic because I wont leave my room or house for days unless I have to and have anxiety about it and panic the whole time. So she prescribed zanex and zoloft and upped my pain meds. I don't want to take more meds but my way isnt working and has pushed me to the edge, so here we go time to try their way.
