Sorry if this has been ansered before, but today has been very frustrating.
I was told I have PCS in early Jan this year. My refferal to see a neurologist was barely denied earlier today. Starting the process again tomorrow. My question or problem (one of many) is this: It is difficult for me to do things, like part my hair or do various things for myself with a mirror, or, say, braiding my hair down my back. Guess I lost the eyes in the back of my head when I fell, too, lol. Anyways. I noticed that it is easier doing it for my daughter, looking straight on.... evn tho doing that is still harder then it should be. But, thats uh "normal" right? Did anyon else have a similar problem? Because, let me tell you, me having problems using a miror is frustrating for this female. Sometimes getting decent looking fo my DH is all I have energy for somedays. Either way.. Thanx!! |

dysfungirl,
Welcome to NeuroTalk. Sorry to hear you are having struggles. I definitely understand your motor problems. I have similar issues. There is a part of the brain that compensates for reversing tasks like when you look in a mirror. I work a lot on cars. I struggle to reverse the 'righty-tighty/lefty-loosy' rule for a bolt I may be working in a reverse condition. I also struggle when looking at the back of an object and understanding the position of an object that starts in the front. This inability to flip images is very frustrating. It is commonly associated with other multi-tasking difficulties and visual memory dysfunction. Personally, I have very poor visual memory, in the bottom 5% of the population. Do you have any problems with visual imaging in your mind? I wish I had a solution for you. Some on this forum have had success with vision therapy. It is controversial but for some it has been worthwhile. Sometimes, a neuro-ophthalmologist can direct the therapy. Maybe others with experience with vision therapy will post. My best to you.
