I wish there was a chart, but it's not that simple.
Just curious if anyone knows how long a 37-yr-old such as myself can expect headache recovery to last. I'm almost at 8 months so far. And to recap- no loss of consciousness. Hit a wood chair back w/the head. Bled. Was dizzy for the first few months. Have had minor accidents, stressful days, and a few minor bumps since the TBI. Thanks- I know there's no set answer, but I figured I'd try asking- |

It would be nice if there was an answer. I'm 47, 11 months post-concussion. Still have headaches.

Think of PCS as a toss of the dice. There is no prognosis that will fit since the differences between people is so varied. It is not like healing a broken bone. The brain is very complicated and the individuals with PCS have such varied lives.
Relax, get good rest, and accept the recovery as it comes. btw, I still have headaches after 10 years.

Alas no magic answer to his query. I was rushing to a meeting and took a nasty fall headfirst onto a concrete slab.
I am almost 18 months from the injury and still have many symptoms -- diminished executive functions, memory issues, word finding issues, headaches, noise/light sensitivity. I am currently attending an out-patient extensive brain rehab program. It took over 14 months post-injury to get the insurance company to approve rehab. The good news is that I am still seeing improvement. Just yesterday my friend remarked on my progress (and I'm even slightly over 40 although I never admit it). |
