Default Will the dizziness ever stop???

I am in week four. 2 concussions in less the 2 months. Still having the headaches and some other stuff. But the most bothersome thing I am dealing with is the dizziness. It comes out of nowhere. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worse ever it's like a 3 or 4. It's made worse by riding in a car and of course I can't drive. I am 29 and very active and my car is collecting dust. When I read or am on the computer too long I can get the dizziness.

What have you done to stop this and have any of you had it 4 weeks after or longer?

I was also told my left eye is not tracking right. And something about my vestibular system. I don't even know what that is. I looked it up but still not sure have any of you been told that your vestibular system is having issues. Doc says we may have to talk about therapy severcies. I think it's too early to be discussing that type of stuff.

There is such a thing as vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT). It helps the vestibular system learn to function correctly again. The vestibular system is the balance and movement system. Check out http://www.vestibular.org/vestibular...ular-rehab.php

There is a therapy that helps get the crystals in the inner ear into a better position, too. One version of this is called Epley therapy or the Epley maneuver. One of the PT's at my PT's office helped develop the Epley maneuver while working as an assistant to Dr Epley. Currently, they use the modified Epley maneuver.

Call around to find someone with expertise with the Epley maneuver. If your issue can be solved with the Epley, the results can be rather quick.

Your overload problem causing dizziness makes me think the Epley maneuver may not be enough. A full vestibular diagnostic procedure is likely needed.

Been dealing with dizziness for 2 years. I always have slight dizziness and gets worse in malls, stores, if I have to look at some one and talk I get dizzy etc., (legs gets weak). Tried VT, all kinds of tests/therapies, steroid shots in the ear and no luck so far. Xanax helped me some what in the beginning. Yes dizziness for me is disabling and limits all my activities. Have u tried Dramamine? Just in case if you have to get out. Didn't work for me when I tried last year.

Be specific when you tell your doctor what kind of dizziness you have. Room spinning, light-headed, weak legs etc., There are number of things to try but you may be too early. For most PCS folks it resolved at some point unless there is any ear damage, vision issues then it seems like it can get very tricky.

read about Dr. Debby Feinberg in Michigan ... if you know your eyes aren't tracking properly she might be able to help with prism lenses.

I have prism lenses but not the same ones she uses (mine are yoked) thru a dr in NJ...and I'm thinking of going to see her.

My dizziness is a bit better with good sleep (6 or more hours) but does come on with computer, tv, or talking/conversation too much and i'm 9months pcs

I even talked to her and she is very confident some of the main issues she can resolve. You are right about yoked prisms. That is what most vision therapists use and seems like she developed something unique. As I mentioned if only I can tolerate flight I would have gone already and tried. Seems like only about three optometrists in U.S. can do this and technology is relatively new. Be prepared to stay for a week since she may have to tweak the lenses few times and also check before you go since you cannot be on some medicines like Klonopin which makes sense since these medicines just mask the symptoms.

dizziness is one of those things that continues for a while, but it will start dwindling until one day you will realize that you haven't been dizzy in a couple weeks.
It took me 5 months after my last concussion, but it went away....that was a great thing to realize

I had really bad dizziness for about 3 months after my car accident. Everything made me feel nauseated, especially being in a car, sitting in front of the computer or going into a place with bright lights and lots of "commotion" (malls, grocery store, etc.) After about 4 months it went down more, and after 5 months it almost completely disappeared. I hit my head again at around month 5, and the dizziness and everything is back again. Hopefully, it won't take a full five months to go away this time, but I can honestly say from experience that it CAN go away completely with time.

Seems like I am one of the unlucky ones when it comes to dizziness, nausea (and other symptoms) but these are the ones which completely disabling me for the past 2 years. Good to know at least there is some hope.
