I hear a lot of you talking about headaches from PCS. The way you describe them, they come and go. Mine has been there since the moment I hit my head and has not lessened or gotten worse. Does anyone have this?
I have to admit, it did change a bit in the beginning. It moved around and my head tingled, etc... but this one pain that has lasted, has been there since the beginning and has not changed. It's a constant grating feeling on the very top of my head. Right around the area of the corpus collasum (or however you spell it!) I sometimes feel pressure in the back of my skull but not as much as the pain at the top which is constant. Constantly there for 3 months now. Thanks. |

I have it constant for 2 years mostly on forehead, above and around the eyes. Sometimes the whole face. Only the intensity varies from dull to severe. Also my head always weighs like I am carrying a cinderblock on my head. Elavil doesn't do anything for it and tried different anti-depressants, tylenol, ibuprofen, migraine meds etc.,

Thanks, helps to know it's possibly NORMAL! Thankfully elavil gets rid of it, but I lessened my dose to see if it's still there.... YEP! It sure is.

I have had a constant headache for 1.5 years.
Yes, it did improve initially the first few months but it has improved only so slightly after that. I would say now that I don't have 9/10's or 10/10's on the pain scale but I can still reach a 7 or 8. It is very debilitating and similar to PCSlife's description. Increases throughout the day, with activity, stimulation, but always there. I understand your question because I felt the same way reading these posts. People would mention having headaches intermittently and few would mention the severe constant headache that i have. The other symptoms of my PCS pale in comparison to the pain. Best wishes for your headache to get better. |

My headache is intermittent and more mild-to-moderate (although it typically gets worse during setbacks). But it is pesky and doesn't seem to want to go away completely. Sometimes it almost disappears for a couple of hours or more, but thus far it has always cropped up again, most often at or near the crown of my head. Sometimes it's worse in the morning, but is usually more noticeable in the afternoon and/or evening.
It also seems to be a kind of barometer for my recovery as a whole. When I'm doing better, it lessens. And vice versa. It makes me curious about what's currently going on in my brain and nervous system. I wish I could lend them a helping hand (brain, heal thyself!), but I'm not sure if there is anything to be done, apart from the usual stuff - rest, good nutrition, low stress, etc. plus time. |

I just got a VERY helpful article about Post-Traumatic Headache from my local Brain Injury Association. Here's the link: http://www.braininjurymn.org/library...icHeadache.pdf
