Anybody ever heard of or know anything about spinal stenosis? I found it after looking up sciatica because the symptoms didn't seem to fit as well as spinal stenosis, according to (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001706/). Either way I plan on mostly seeing what my new neurologist says about everything. I know for one, my previous neurologist didn't examine anything other then my brain... and even that... he didn't even look at the scan he just read the report. Which did not instill a whole lot of confidence.

Question muscle aches/weakness, difficulty concentrating

I have been experiencing similar symptoms listed here but not quite exactly as some mentioned.
In Dec 2009 I was in a car accident and suffered a severe concussion (and a laceration near my right ear). Recently (past 6-8 weeks), I have been having trouble sleeping, either trouble getting to sleep, and/or staying asleep for a sufficient amount of time. Fatigue has also been a symptom, probably due to poor sleep. I have also had some discomfort in my head, almost like a very light headache, but I had dismissed this as a side effect of fatigue. I have also starting noticing that concentration has become more labored, and distractions come easily. More recently, I have been experiencing aching and weakness of the legs and arms. Mostly in the thighs, calves, fore arms, and hands. The level of discomfort seems to fluctuate throughout the day. In the past week or two, it has been getting more intense with the aching. There is not really any "pain", just a high level of discomfort when trying to do daily physical activities. My next step is to see a neurologist, but due to high costs for neurological exams, I can not proceed with that at this time.
I have been researching the long term effects of concussions & TBI, and numerous articles from scientific studies as well as some university publications have identified that issues can arise long after an injury and in some cases have shown effects lasting up to 30 years after the injury.
I hope that this insight is able to help some of you in your diagnostic journey. If it is anything like mine, after several tests and blood work, nothing is showing up, but it is obvious that something is going on.
Best wishes to all.

Hi Jingles,
Do you take supplements? Sometimes a lack of magnesium or potassium can cause terrible aches and pain.

Craving chocolate is often a sign. (as it naturally contains mag.)

I am a 36 yr old female who has played football, as a hobby, for 13 yrs. In July 2012, during a game I was slammed to the floor by two angry guys who hit into me so hard that one of them broke their ribs.
This knocked me back onto hard ground leaving me unconscious. I awoke to chronic head and neck pain, sickness and the inability to see or balance.
The paramedics made me walk to the ambulance, instead of placing me on a spinal board, where I was taken to the ER. I was hospitalised with suspected brain hemorrhage for 1 week, then on complete bed rest for 1 month, in a wheelchair for 2 months.

I have been left with PCS, moderate constant head pain, little short term memory, no memory of the accident, balance and sight problems, depression and exhaustion.
The worst problem is collapsing regularly. This has finally been diagnosed as Hemiplegic Migraines , these cause my brain to regularly shut down when I am tired and I then feel the full effects of a stroke (without the bleed on the brain!!) of which the symptoms last 2-4 days.
I have had 6 CT's, 2 MRI's and am under 3 specialists.

I believe everyday is one more towards improvement. Mainly I believe in the power of acceptance not the weakness of complacency or resignation.

I know this is an old post, but I am having the same symptoms as this guy. First in my right bicep and thigh, and now in my left bicep. I have strength, flexibility, feeling, etc. but this weird burning pain deep in my muscles, and just a general feeling where my limbs don't feel like they should. Sometimes they tingle at night. I have searched online for hours but can't find anybody with similar symptoms. I saw the neurologist today, and he was very dismissive, offered no insight, and seemed like he thought I was an absurd person. He said since I have no balance problems, etc. that I should be fine in a couple of months. But this crazy muscle pain and weakness is really worrying me (and no I'm not a hypochondriac). I have headaches, dizziness, and other normal stuff since my concussion a couple months ago, but the three doctors I've seen won't even comment on these muscle issues. Does anyone have any info? Thanks.
