Smile Feeling hopeful!!!

I am close to 14 weeks post accident. I had fallen and hit my head multiple times and was unconscious for 12 hours back in late April. I attempted to go back to work after 3 weeks and failed miserably with worsening of symptoms including headache, speech difficulties, cognitive slowing, tremor, dizziness, and extreme fatigue. I am happy to report that i have now had 1 full week without headaches!!! I am back to full workouts and doing my daily activities with only 3-4 times a day dizzy spells and 3 times a day noticeable tremors. I go back to work as an ICU nurse on the night shift on Monday and i feel like i am in the best possible state to go back and do my job. I am realistic that i will have a setback and possible return of symptoms once i start working again, but feeling this good for a whole week is so encouraging. I feel like all the resting I have been doing, the good nutrition and supplements i have been taking and the combination of celexa and nortriptyline as me feeling like my old self again. just thought i would post a happy post for those who need to hear that improvements are possible!

Great to hear you are having good days. Please keep in mind that you are still healing. If and when you stop the meds, things may be different. Keep up with the good nutritional, environment and rest disciplines. You will likely find them valuable for the rest of your life, especially when you are med free.

A lower stress life is a blessing even if it seems like it would be a boring or mundane existence. The ability to slow down and enjoy those around you can be a new and exiting experience.

Im definetly going to stay on the meds for at least 3 months because i am realistic about the fact that going back to work may result in a return in symptoms. I am on a very small dose of celexa and that would probably be the first one that i wean off of and if all goes well i will take another 5 months to wean off of the nortriptyline. I love how i feel with having my rest, good nutrition, and supplements, and plan to keep up with that.
