Hi Xoe -

My husband has found relief from terrible headaches lasting all day, most every day. Despite being totally against prescription drugs due to being so groggy and unable to function after taking anti-depressants, etc his Dr. finally helped him work it out.

Try taking 5 mg every evening for a week or so and try to let your body get used to the medicine. Be consistent about the time you take it - usually good a few hours before bed. He had a rough couple of weeks initially, but has adjusted and is up to 10 mg Zoloft each evening without terrible grogginess the next day. The benefits have been HUGE - almost NO headaches at all now. (Also took away the "fog" feeling - though he still has "pressure" and "brain flips").

Don't give up on the medicines. Find one that will work for you - it'll be worth the hassles in the long run and you CAN work it out.

Also, pay attention to lights (including different kinds of lights). Overhead lights still are hard for him to bear and will cause a headache - using ambient lights (like table lamps) is much better for him when indoors, and very dark sunglasses when outside.
