Default lack of interest in sex

Hi,

I'm just wondering if any other women were experiencing a lack of interest in sex.

I have post concussion syndrome from a car accident in June and I have not really been interested in sex since then. I have headaches frequently and seem to tire easily, so sex does not come up as often as it used to.

When it comes up, I tend to get distracted easily or somehow become irritable, which causes all kinds of stress with the boyfriend. Also, when I am having sex, I have an extremely difficult time getting to orgasm, which is not something I've had trouble with in the past.

I don't know if these symptoms relate to the brain stuff, but I was hoping I wasn't the only one with this going on. Also, what can I do about it?

Get thee to a nunnery. Whoops, No, I mean a hormone specialist.

Hormones are often screwed up by PCS. Getting some help will be a good way to find out. Bad hormones can also cause moods that are counter to healing.

Check out https://www.womensinternational.com/..._referral.html for a referral.

As they say, The brain is the biggest sex organ. Make sure you have the right hormones enabling it to work properly.

This is also a problem with men. They can lose their libido after a concussion. They have the same need for good hormone diagnostics.

If your concussed man does not get excited at the drop of a flirtive glance, it is likely his brain messing up not your flirting being weak.

Thanks! I hope that helps.

It's been really frustrating. I feel like my regular doctor and my neurologist did not seem to think it was a big deal.

I have had similar issues since my car wreck (1 1/2 years now).

I deal with this, I should say my hubby and I deal with this.

I've had my hormones tested and for me that wasn't the issue, everything was in the norm range.

Part of mine is the meds I'm on, some do interfer with sex drive.

My bigger issue is with my limbic system, particularly with the hypothalamus which is largely responsible for sex drive, arousal and sexual satisfaction. (I have impact lesions.)

It takes a little more effort focusing on foreplay and stimulation. Sexual aids, make that much less stressful on my hubby to stimulate and arouse me and he doesn't have to be left out of the "stimulation therapy" enjoyment.

This is one thing in your relationhip you can't be shy about, even if you're a sex toy virgin (my hubby was and lost his inhabitions rather quick )

You also have to be open to "re-learning" how to be sexual again. Not being in the mood can be changed relatively easy if you're open and willing to make it a priority even when you're not in the mood or feeling it...You've gotta' make a spark before you can have a fire

Amazon.com has an adult sexual aid section that is discreetly delivered and privacy protected...Just sayin'

sex gives me suchhhh a headache now, since my concussion!

<3 I really hope this feels better for you soon. Do you think you might be depressed as well? It's a symptom of PCS and related to lack of interest in sex...

Never tried it.

It never interested me much before the TBI, and it sure doesn't after.

Dating was cool before the TBI, the thought of dating now seems strange w/chronic pain. Being single- I really want to be in top condition as a provider & protector before going into a relationship.

Most people already in a committed relationship or married adapt to the TBI, I suppose.
