Default Neuropyschological testing

Anyone know how I can get these test for cognitive problems. Thus far I have not had much luck. If insurance won't cover it, then it's out of the question. I've been given an oral test by an intern but he said I did fine. When asked what season it was I went blank, totally blank. Then I said, "fall" feeling like I needed an answer. This was in late April. My wife told me she was dumbfounded when she heard that. I have been trying to get the point of cognitive problems across for a long time and so far no takers except for my vestibular therapist. There are so many daily things that go on. I know prior to my problems like most we all have experienced trying to put the milk in the cabinet thing. I'm talking about every day decisons, simple decisions or actions. An example is spelling, always pretty good, not longer. I have to study words or stop and think when it was instinctive.Others around don't see these problems especially since most of it isn't a shared sort of thinking. I had a profession which paid my bills but my joy came from being a diy guy and a woodturner. The artistic thoughts are not there and the layout constructive thoughts have gone on hiatus. I don't believe depression is the problem. This is just flat thinking.....
Thanks,
Mike

4mikee,

I don't understand what your symptoms are. I cannot read your first post. The right justification makes it impossible for my brain to process.

It is very helpful to post in short paragraphs. Five or six lines max then a double space. No other formatting, etc.

NP Assessments can be very helpful but difficult to get done due to the cost. Has you condition prevented you from working? If it has, you can apply for SSDI (Social Security Disability Income) It may be a way to get at least a minimal Neuro-Psych Assessment.

If you have access to the intern or other professional, you can take a ImPACT Test online and get the results forwarded to the intern or other professional. Google ImPACT and see if you can find the web site that offers it. They charge $10 for the test. They will only forward the result to a professional.

Hello Mark,

You must have read the post under the new member intro . This was copied to this sub forum and in the process the formatting was screwed up. The same one can be found here formatted correctly. I completly understand the confusion. Try again if you don't mind.

I have not been able to work in a year. SSD is awaiting appeal.

I probably can find someone locally to receive the info. I will check that out.

Take a lok at that post, you seem pretty experienced with all of this. PM me if you want.

Thanks,
Mike
