Default One year ago today

My life changed in an instant....a year ago today I hit my head....I have experienced every emotion under the sun, had months of desperation, months of progress, and months of feeling stuck in neutral....this is pcs and I am still learning to accept it....

How do you accept pcs but not let it define you? This seems to be my biggest challenge of all

Boy do i hear that! That is definetly the hardest struggle for me. Dont know how to accept it and not let it define me. But I'm learning that it is definetly part of me, forever....hopefully making me a better person because of it.

Wishing you better progress in this next year!! You are still here fighting a year later, that counts for a lot!

Suffered a TBI with PCS on April 25th 2011 from multiple blows to the head from falling, unconscious for 12 hours with no memory of event. Hit the back of my head, and above right eye. MRI and CT negative. Symptoms included constant headaches (migraine, pressure, tension, icepicks), dizziness, tinnitus, visual changes, photophobia, fatigue, "spacing out", word finding difficulties, depression, and emotional lability.
Began Healing in November 2011 after starting acupuncture and Healing Touch (a nurturing energy therapy that promotes relaxation and pain relief). I went back to work in February 2012. Ive been symptom free since July 2012. Very happy, positive, energetic and working out every day, doing yoga, and living a normal life again!
I also began taking Healing Touch classes in November 2011 and completed 5 Levels of Healing Touch Certificate Program that included a 1 year mentorship to become a Healing Touch International Practitioner in June 2013. I am so pleased to offer this wonderful healing therapy to my patients, friends, and clients.

Hang in there - I hope you continue to make progress in the coming weeks and months. Be patient, and be good to yourself.

I'm right there with you. I'm at 8 months now, but still have a long way to go and am dreading that one year anniversary.

It's so hard to not let something define you, when it prevades into every aspect of your life.

I wish you continued progress and success. And the ability to not let it define you in such a big way. (I know easier said than done

Keep on keepin on... you'll get there, we all will
